| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Melon (Cucumis melo L.) memiliki potensi besar untuk dikembangkan karena nilai ekonominya tinggi. Produksi melon yang optimal dipengaruhi oleh dua faktor yaitu faktor lingkungan dan cara budidaya. Cara budidaya yang perlu diperhatikan adalah pangkas pucuk dan posisi buah pada ruas tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pangkas pucuk dan posisi buah pada ruas tanaman terhadap kualitas buah melon varietas Golden Aroma. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL), yang terdiri dari 2 faktor yaitu pangkas pucuk dan posisi buah pada ruas tanaman. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan uji F dan dilanjutkan dengan DMRT (Duncan’s Multiple Range Test) pada taraf kesalahan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pangkas pucuk berpengaruh nyata terhadap variabel tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, jumlah ruas, bobot kering tajuk, bobot kering akar, laju asimilasi bersih, laju pertumbuhan tanaman, bobot buah, diameter buah, volume buah, tingkat kemanisan, dan ketebalan daging buah. Perlakuan posisi buah berpengaruh nyata terhadap variabel bobot buah, diameter buah, volume buah, dan tingkat kemanisan buah. Posisi buah pada ruas ke 14-16 menghasilkan ukuran buah (bobot, diameter dan volume) terbaik, sedangkan kemanisan buah tertinggi dihasilkan pada posisi buah pada ruas ke 8-10. Terdapat interaksi antara pangkas pucuk dan posisi buah pada ruas tanaman terhadap kualitas buah melon, pada variabel diameter buah, volume buah dan tingkat kemanisan buah. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Melon (Cucumis melo L.) has great potential for development due to its high economic value. Optimal melon production is influenced by two factors: environmental factors and cultivation methods. The cultivation methods that need to be considered are shoot pruning and fruit position on the plant nodes. This study aims to determine the effect of shoot pruning and fruit position on the plant nodes on the fruit quality of the Golden Aroma melon variety. This study uses a Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD), which consists of two factors: shoot pruning and fruit position on the plant nodes. The research data were analyzed using an F-test, followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results show that shoot pruning significantly affected the variables of plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, number of nodes, dry weight of the canopy, dry weight of the roots, net assimilation rate, plant growth rate, fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit volume, sweetness level, and flesh thickness. Fruit position significantly affected the variables of fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit volume, and fruit sweetness level. The best fruit size (weight, diameter, and volume) was obtained from fruit positioned at nodes 14-16, while the highest sweetness level was achieved from fruit positioned at nodes 8-10. There was an interaction between shoot pruning and fruit position on the plant nodes that affected the melon fruit quality, specifically on fruit diameter, fruit volume, and sweetness level. |
