Indonesia) | Latar Belakang: Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 (DMT2) adalah penyakit kronis yang ditandai dengan peningkatan glukosa darah, dengan obesitas sebagai salah satu faktor utama penyebabnya. Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan SMDM dengan obesitas pada pasien DMT2 di Kecamatan Sumbang, Kabupaten Banyumas. Metode: Penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain cross sectional yang dipilih secara purposive sampling dengan total sebanyak 55 pasien dari bulan Agustus hingga September 2024. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil: Hasil penelitian univariat menunjukkan responden dengan tingkat Self Management Diabetes Melitus (SMDM) kurang 5 orang (9,1%), cukup 35 orang (63,6%), dan baik 15 orang (27,3%). Responden dengan obesitas 23 orang (41,8%) dan tidak terjadi obesitas 32 orang (58,2%). Hasil analisis bivariat dengan uji Mann-Whitney menunjukkan nilai 0,422 (p>0,05) sehingga tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara SMDM dengan obesitas. Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan antara SMDM dengan obesitas pada pasien DMT2 di Kecamatan Sumbang, Kabupaten Banyumas. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease characterized by elevated blood glucose, with obesity as one of the main contributing factors. Objective: To determine the relationship between SMDM and obesity in T2DM patients in Sumbang Sub-district, Banyumas Regency. Methods: Analytical observational research with a cross sectional design selected by purposive sampling with a total of 55 patients from August to September 2024. Data analysis was performed using the Mann-Whitney test. Results: The results of univariate research showed that respondents with a level of Self Management Diabetes Mellitus (SMDM) were less than 5 people (9.1%), 35 people (63.6%) were sufficient, and 15 people (27.3%) were good. Respondents with obesity 23 people (41.8%) and no obesity 32 people (58.2%). The results of bivariate analysis with the Mann-Whitney test showed a value of 0.422 (p>0.05) so that there was no significant relationship between SMDM and obesity. Conclusion: There is no relationship between SMDM and obesity in T2DM patients in Sumbang Subdistrict, Banyumas Regency. |
