| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Suku Bajo merupakan salah satu suku di Indonesia yang kehidupannya sangat bergantung pada laut. Laut merupakan tempat yang sakral bagi masyarakat suku Bajo. Laut dipercaya sebagai pemberian Tuhan yang dijaga oleh dewa laut. Hal tersebut membuat orang Bajo sangat menjaga keseimbangan laut melalui mitos dan tabu turun-temurun. Kepercayaan suku Bajo mengenai laut dapat dilihat melalui novel Mata dan Manusia Laut karya Okky Madasari. Direpresentasikan mitos dan tabu suku Bajo mengenai laut yang menjadi pedoman hidup orang Bajo. Mitos dalam penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan teori semiotika dari Roland Barthes. Tabu sendiri merupakan larangan yang masih berhubungan dengan mitos itu sendiri. Hasil analisis dalam penelitian ini diantaranya: (1) Unsur pembangun karya sastra yang meliputi tokoh, alur dan latar; (2) Mitos suku Bajo dalam novel Mata dan Manusia Laut karya Okky Madasari; (3) Interpretasi mitos dengan laut; (4) Tabu suku Bajo dalam novel Mata dan Manusia Laut karya Okky Madasari. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The Bajo tribe is one of the tribes in Indonesia whose life is very dependent on the sea. The sea is a sacred place for the Bajo people. The sea is believed to bea gift from God which is guarded by the sea god. This makes the Bajo people really maintain the balance of the sea through myths and taboos passed down from generation to generation. The Bajo tribe's beliefs about the sea can be seen in the novel Mata dan Manusia Laut by Okky Madasari. The myths and taboos of the Bajo tribe regarding the sea are represented, which guide the life of the Bajo people. The myths in this research were analyzed using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. Taboo itself is a prohibition that is still related to the myth itself. The results of the analysis in this research include: (1) The building blocks of literary works which include characters, plot and setting; (2) The myth of the Bajo tribe in the novel Mata dan Manusia Laut by Okky Madasari; (3) Interpretation of myths about the sea; (4) Bajo tribal taboos in the novel Mata and Laut Man by Okky Madasari. |
