| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | ABSTRAK Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang membahas tentang unsur intrinsik novel serta bagaimana konsep space and place dapat terealisasikan dalam novel Heartbreak Motel karya Ika Natassa, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan teori geokritisme yang membuktikan bahwa space and place memengaruhi teks narasi dalam karya sastra novel. Melalui konsep space and place oleh Yi-Fu Tuan, diperoleh hasil bahwa tokoh Ava dan Raisa memberikan identitas pada ruang yang mereka tempati, dan ternyata tempat itu juga memberikan identitas bagi Ava dan Raisa. Ruang, tenpat, identitas, dan manusia adalah hal-hal yang tidak dapat dipisahkan, keempatnya saling terkait satu sama lain. Melalui teori geokritisme, kamar Heartbreak Motel dapat dianalisis melalui konsep polisensorialitas, transgresivitas, representasi ruaang, dan referensial. Keempat konsep ini membuktikan bahwa teks sastra mendapatkan pengaruh dari peran latar tempat. Kata kunci: ruang dan tempat, identitas, geokritisme. teks sastra |

Inggris) | ABSTRACT This research is a research that discusses the intrinsic elements of the novel and how the concept of space and place can be realized in the novel Heartbreak Motel by Ika Natassa, then continued with the theory of geocriticism which proves that space and place affect narrative texts in novel literary works. Through the concept of space and place by Yi-Fu Tuan, it was obtained that Ava and Raisa's characters gave an identity to the space they occupied, and it turned out that the place also gave an identity to Ava and Raisa. Space, space, identity, and people are inseparable things, all four of which are interrelated with each other. Through geocriticism theory, Heartbreak Motel rooms can be analyzed through the concepts of polysensoriality, transgressiveness, spatial representation, and referentiality.
