| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Sebuah teks tidak hanya berisi kalimat untuk menyampaikan informasi, tetapi juga memiliki tujuan tertentu yang perlu diungkap. Dengan analisis wacana kritis dapat dilihat suatu teks dapat memengaruhi cara berpikir dan bertindak seseorang serta mengungkap hubungan antara bahasa dan tujuan sosialnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis wacana kritis bab The Alpha Student dalam buku The Alpha Girl’s Guide karya Henry Manampiring menggunakan pendekatan Teun A. Van Dijk. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode simak dan catat sebagai metode pengumpulan data. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan wacana The Alpha Student telah memenuhi tingkat analisis wacana kritis menggunakan teori Teun A. Van Dijk. Data tersebut meliputi analisis teks (struktur makro, superstruktur, dan struktur mikro), kognisi sosial, dan konteks sosial. Pada struktur makro terdapat analisis tema wacana. Pada superstruktur terdapat analisis skema atau susunan wacana. Pada struktur mikro terdapat analisis tataran linguistik yang meliputi sintaksis. Kemudian, analisis kognisi sosial yaitu proses produksi wacana yang terdiri atas skema person, skema diri, skema peran, dan skema peristiwa. Selanjutnya, pada konteks sosial terdapat keberterimaan pembaca terhadap wacana The Alpha Student yang diperoleh dari internet. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | A text not only contains sentences to convey information but also has a specific purpose that needs to be revealed. With the analysis of critical discourse, it can be seen that a text can influence a person's way of thinking and acting, as well as reveal the relationship between language and its social purpose. The study aims to analyze the critical discourse of the chapter The Alpha Student in Henry Manampiring's book The Alpha Girl's Guide using Teun A. Van Dijk's approach. Data analysis shows that The Alpha Student's discourse has met the critical level of discourse analysis using Teun A. Van Dijk's theory. The data includes text analysis (macro, superstructure, and microstructure), social cognition, and social context. On the macrostructure, there is the analysis of the themes of discourses. On the superstructures, there is the schematic analysis or the layout of the discourses. In the microstructure, there is a linguistic pattern analysis that includes syntax. Then, social cognitive analysis is the process of producing discourse that consists of a person scheme, a self-schema, a role scheme, and an event scheme. Furthermore, in the social context, there is readers' sympathy with The Alpha Student's discourse obtained from the Internet. |
