| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tipe onomatope, strategi penerjemahan takarir, dan aspek keakuratan pada penerjemahan onomatope dalam serial What If. Analisis ini dilakukan dengan mengaplikasikan teori tipe onomatope oleh Berdin (1996), teori strategi penerjemahan takarir oleh Gottlieb (1992), dan teori keakuratan penerjemahan oleh Nababan (2012). Data dari penilitian ini adalah 61 onomatope yang diambil dari semua 9 episode. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan total sampling. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan pada rumusan masalah, peneliti menyebarka kuesioner kepada beberapa responden yang hasilnya dilibatkan dalam analisis. Hasil dari penilitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semua tipe onomatope ditemukan di semua data seperti onomatope direct (31%), onomatope association (36%), dan onomatope exemplary (33%). Sementara itu, hanya ada 7 strategi yang ditemukan dari data yang terdiri dari of paraphrase (33%), transfer (53%), transcription (2%), dislocation (3%), condensation (2%), decimation (5%), dan resignation (2%). Selain itu, untuk aspek keakuratan, sebanyak 89% onomatope tergolong level akurat dan 11% yang lain termasuk level kurang akurat. Strategi yang paling sering adalah transfer yang dipengaruhi oleh makna tersurat yang disampaikan oleh onomatope asli dalam teks sumber. Maka dari itu, sebagian besar terjemahan onomatope dalam serial What If akurat atau umumnya mengandung pesan yang sama seperti teks bahasa sumber. Terbukti dari penggunaan strategi penerjemahan takarir yang diaplikasikan pada setiap kategori onomatope dan menghasilkan level tinggi dalam penilaian keakuratan. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This research is aimed to analyze the types of onomatopoeia, subtitling strategies, and the accuracy aspect of the translation of onomatopoeia in What If series. The analysis is conducted by applying the theory of types of onomatopoeia by Berdin (1996), the theory of subtitling strategies by Gottlieb (1992), and the theory of translation accuracy by Nababan (2012). The data of this research is 61 onomatopoeias collected from all the 9 episodes. This research uses descriptive qualitative method and total sampling. In order to answer the research questions, the researcher distributes questionnaires to respondents which result is involved in the analysis. The result of this research shows that all types of onomatopoeia are found in all the data such as direct onomatopoeia (31%), association onomatopoeia (36%), and exemplary onomatopoeia (33%). Meanwhile, there are only 7 subtitling strategies found from the data that consist of paraphrase (33%), transfer (53%), transcription (2%), dislocation (3%), condensation (2%), decimation (5%), and resignation (2%). The most used strategy is transfer which affected by the explicit meaning conveyed by the original onomatopoeia in the source text. Moreover, for the accuracy aspect, a total of 89% of onomatopoeia belongs to accurate level and the rest 11% belongs to less accurate level. Therefore, the translation of onomatopoeia in What If series is dominantly accurate or generally contain the same message as the source language text. It is proved by the use of subtitling strategies that are applied to each category of onomatopoeia and result in the high level of accuracy assessment. |
