| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Bidang penelitian ini termasuk dalam sosiolinguistik. Pertanyaan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik dan mengidentifikasi fungsi register yang digunakan British Highschoolers pada video YouTube Korean Englishman. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian, peneliti menggunakan teori dari Finch tentang fungsi register. Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan yaitu untuk mencari arti serta karakterisktik dari register yang digunakan oleh British Highschoolers pada video YouTube Korean Englishman, serta menggambarkan fungsi dari register yang digunakan oleh British Highschoolers pada video YouTube Korean Englishman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitative deskriptif dalam menganalisa data pada penelitian ini, yaitu register yang ditemukan di video YouTube Korean Englishman. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan sebanyak 46 register yang digunakan oleh British Highschoolers dalam video YouTube Korean Englishman. Selain itu, hanya 2 dari 5 fungsi register yang ditemukan di penelitian ini. Fungsi register yang ditemukan adalah register konsultatif dan register kasual. Register casual merupakan fungsi register yang paling banyak ditemukan di video YouTube Korean Englishman |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The field of research is sociolinguistics. The questions of this research are to describe the characteristics of registers and identify the function of registers used by British Highschoolers in Korean Englishman YouTube videos. To answer the research questions, the researcher uses Finch’s theory of function of register. The research aims to find out the meaning and the characteristics of registers used by British Highschoolers in Korean Englishman YouTube videos and to describe the functions of the register used by British Highschoolers in Korean Englishman YouTube videos. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method in analyzing the data of research which is the register found in Korean Englishman YouTube videos. The research results show that there are 46 registers used by British Highschoolers in Korean Englishman YouTube videos. Furthermore, only 2 of 5 functions are found in this research. They are consultative register and casual register. Casual register is the most frequently function of register found in Korean Englishman YouTube videos. |
