| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini berawal dari tetap adanya aktivitas di wilayah makam Mbah Semedo dan Mbah Djinten pada zaman sekarang, zaman yang sudah modern. Kedua makam juga memiliki cerita yang tetap berkembang di pemukiman sekitar makam. Atas dasar permasalahan tersebut, peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan tujuan mencari makna mitos Mbah Semedo dan Mbah Djinten di Kabupaten Tegal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan strukturalisme Levi-Strauss. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kesamaan pada tema kedua mitos yang berhubungan dengan penyebaran agama. Mitos Mbah Semedo dan Mbah Djinten merupakan simbolisasi dari kehidupan orang jawa yang sederhana dan simbol tidak mendalamnya ilmu agama atau bahkan tidak beragamanya masyarakat di sekitar Desa Balamoa dan Desa Semedo di masa lalu. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This research originated from the persistence of activities in the area of the graves of Mbah Semedo and Mbah Djinten in modern times. Both tombs also have stories that continue to develop in the settlements around the tombs. On the basis of these problems, researchers conducted research with the aim of finding the meaning of the myth of Mbah Semedo and Mbah Djinten in Tegal Regency. This research used descriptive qualitative research method with Levi-Strauss structuralism approach. The results showed that there were similarities in the themes of the two myths related to the spread of religion. The myth of Mbah Semedo and Mbah Djinten is a symbol of the simple life of Javanese people and a symbol of the lack of religious knowledge or even the lack of religion of the people around Balamoa Village and Semedo Village in the past. |
