Indonesia) | Abstrak Perbedaan sikap antara Partai Demokrat dan Partai Republik Amerika Serikat sangatlah berpengaruh terhadap sebuah kebijakan yang akan dibuat karena kedua partai tertebut merupakan dua partai besar Amerika Serikat. Partai Demokrat mayoritas memiliki keyakinan terhadap ideologi liberal sementara Partai Republik mayoritas lebih mengarah kepada ideologi konservatif yang tentunya ideologi dari setiap partai tersebut berbeda dan dalam beberapa kasus setiap partai bertolak belakang dalam menyikapinya terutama pada isu imigran. Permasalahan imigran di Amerika Serikat pada tahun 2021 adalah terjadinya backlog terhadap negara-negara dengan penduduk yang padat seperti salah satunya adalah negara India yang berimbas pada penumpukan permintaan terhadap green card untuk negara tersebut. Solusi yang ditawarkan oleh Partai Demokrat melalui perwakilan House of Representativesnya yaitu Zoe Lofgren adalah dengan mengusulkan adanya EAGLE Act yaitu kebijakan yang dapat mengatasi permasalahan imigran yang menumpuk dikarenakan kuota yang terbatas per negara dimana kebijakan ini menghilangkan batasan imigran per negara dan mengalokasikannya pada negara dengan jumlah penduduk yang cukup banyak. Partai Republik dilain sisi menganggap kebijakan ini adalah sebuah ancaman dikarenakan dengan dipermudahnya akses imigran untuk masuk ke Amerika Serikat akan mendatangkan banyak masalah seperti masuknya para pengedar narkotika, terorisme, serta kegiatan ilegal lainnya yang dapat menghancurkan negara Amerika Serikat. Oleh karena itu Partai Demokrat dan Partai Republik bertentangan dalam pembuatan EAGLE Act atas dasar perbedaan prinsip yang dianut dari setiap partai. |

Inggris) | Abstract The difference in attitudes between the Democratic Party and the Republican Party in the United States has a significant impact on the policies that will be made because both parties are major parties in the United States. The Democratic Party mostly has a belief in liberal ideology, while the Republican Party mostly leans towards conservative ideology. Of course, the ideologies of each party are different, and in some cases, each party takes opposing views, especially on immigration issues. The problem of immigrants in the United States in 2021 is the backlog of countries with dense populations, such as India, which has an impact on the accumulation of demand for green cards for that country. The solution offered by the Democratic Party through its representative in the House of Representatives, Zoe Lofgren, is to propose the EAGLE Act, which is a policy that can overcome the problem of immigrants that are piling up due to limited quotas per country. This policy eliminates the limit of immigrants per country and allocates them to countries with a large enough population. On the other hand, the Republican Party considers this policy a threat because the easier access of immigrants to enter the United States will bring many problems such as the entry of drug dealers, terrorism, and other illegal activities that can destroy the United States. Therefore, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party are in conflict in the making of the EAGLE Act based on the differences in principles adopted by each party. |
