Indonesia)Pengobatan ketombe yang disebabkan oleh Malassezia furfur umumnya melibatkan penggunaan antijamur sintetik yang berpotensi menimbulkan berbagai efek samping dan pada penggunaan yang tidak tepat dapat menyebabkan peningkatan resistensi. Daun Jarak Cina diketahui memiliki kandungan metabolit sekunder seperti saponin, fenol, tanin, flavonoid, steroid, alkaloid, dan glikosida dimana kandungan tersebut memiliki potensi aktivitas antijamur terutama senyawa golongan fenolik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar fenolik total ekstrak daun Jarak Cina dan aktivitas antijamur tehadap Malassezia furfur. Pada penentuan kadar fenolik total dilakukan menggunakan metode Folin Ciocalteu dan diukur menggunakan Spektrofotometer Uv-Vis. Pengujian aktivitas antijamur dilakukan menggunakan metode difusi cakram. Ketokonazol 15 µg/disk digunakan sebagai kontrol positif dan DMSO 20% digunakan sebagai kontrol negatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol daun Jarak Cina memiliki rata-rata kadar fenolik total sebesar 60,030 ± 2,41 mgGAE/gram. Zona hambat ekstrak konsentrasi 3,125%; 6,25%; 12,5%; 25%, dan 50% memiliki rata-rata berturut-turut 0 mm; 0 mm; 0 mm; 6,08 mm; dan 7,75 mm.

Inggris)The treatment of dandruff caused by Malassezia furfur typically involves the use of synthetic antifungal agents, which have the potential to cause various side effects and when used inappropriately, may lead to increased resistance. Jarak Cina leaves are known to contain secondary metabolites such as saponins, phenols, tannins, flavonoids, steroids, alkaloids and glycosides, all of which have the potential for antifungal activity, especially within the phenolic compound group. This study is a laboratory-based experimental research. The determination of the total phenolic content in the methanol extract of Jarak Cina leaves was carried out using the Folin Ciocalteu method and measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The antifungal activity of the extract against Malassezia furfur was assessed using the disc diffusion method. Ketoconazole at 15 µg/disk was used as a positive control, and 20% DMSO was used as a negative control. The exctract of Jarak Cina leaves had an average total phenolic content of 60.030 ± 2.41 mgGAE/gram. The extract at concentration of 3.125%; 6.25%; 12.5%; 25%, and 50% exhibited antifungal activity with average inhibitory zone diameters of 0 mm; 0mm; 0mm; 6.08mm; and 7.75 mm, respectively.
