Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Genus Nephrolepis merupakan tumbuhan paku yang mudah ditemukan. Spesies dalam genus ini berhabitat terrestrial atau epifit. Di daerah Purwokerto, belum banyak dilakukan penelitian yang spesifik pada genus Nephrolepis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman spesies anggota variasi genus Nephrolepis berdasarkan morfologi dan epidermis daun di Purwokerto. Pengambilan sampel tumbuhan genus Nephrolepis dilakukan secara purposive sampling dengan metode jelajah. Pengamatan karakter morfologi tumbuhan paku genus Nephrolepis dilakukan terhadap akar, batang, dan daun yang meliputi tinggi tumbuhan, akar, rimpang, warna rimpang, tipe daun, tekstur permukaan daun, warna daun permukaan atas dan bawah, tata letak daun, tepi daun, ujung daun, bangun daun, pangkal daun, jenis pertulangan daun, bentuk sorus, letak sorus, kehadiran indusium, dan bentuk indusium. Pengamatan karakter epidermis daun dilakukan dengan mengolesi permukaan atas dan bawah daun menggunakan kutek transparan, dan dibiarkan hingga mengering. Sebanyak 4 spesies Nephrolepis berhasil ditemukan di Purwokerto, yaitu N. hirsutula, N. biserrata, N. radicans, dan N. falcata. Variasi karakter morfologi spesies Nephrolepis yang diperoleh antara lain terletak pada rimpang, stipe, warna sisik pada stipe, rachis, warna sisik pada rachis, jarak antar daun, pangkal daun, tekstur permukaan daun, warna helaian daun, letak sorus, bentuk sorus, dan bentuk indusium. Variasi karakter epidermis daun spesies Nephrolepis yang diperoleh antara lain terletak pada panjang dan lebar epidermis daun, panjang dan lebar stomata, tipe stomata, kerapatan stomata, serta kehadiran trikoma. Hubungan kemiripan terjauh, yaitu N. falcata dan N. hirsutula, sedangkan hubungan kemiripan terdekat, yaitu pada N. biserrata dengan N. radicans.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)The genus Nephrolepis is a fern that is easy to find. Species in this genus are terrestrial or epiphytic. In Purwokerto area, not much research has been done specifically on the genus Nephrolepis. This study aims to determine the species diversity of members of the genus Nephrolepis based on morphology and leaf epidermis in Purwokerto. Sampling of plants of the genus Nephrolepis was done by purposive sampling with the cruising method. Observations of the morphological characters of the fern genus Nephrolepis were made on the roots, stems, and leaves which included plant height, roots, rhizomes, rhizome color, leaf type, leaf surface texture, upper and lower surface leaf color, leaf layout, leaf edge, leaf tip, leaf wake, leaf base, leaf reinforcement type, sorus shape, sorus location, indusium presence, and indusium shape. Observation of leaf epidermal characters was carried out by smearing the upper and lower surfaces of the leaves using transparent polish, and left to dry. A total of 4 Nephrolepis species were found in Purwokerto, namely N. hirsutula, N. biserrata, N. radicans, and N. falcata. Variations in morphological characters of Nephrolepis species obtained include the location of the rhizome, stipe, scale color on the stipe, rachis, scale color on the rachis, distance between leaves, leaf base, leaf surface texture, leaf blade color, sorus location, sorus shape, and indusium shape. Variations in leaf epidermal characters of Nephrolepis species obtained include the length and width of the leaf epidermis, the length and width of stomata, stomatal type, stomatal density, and the presence of trichomes. The farthest similarity relationship, namely N. falcata and N. hirsutula, while the closest similarity relationship, namely in N. biserrata with N. radicans.
