| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dua unsur pembangun cerita berupa tokoh dan latar tempat, serta menunjukkan representasi kelas menengah perkotaan dalam metropop Home Sweet Loan karya Almira Bastari. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra Alan Swingewood dan teori representasi Stuart Hall. Hasil analisisnya berupa deskripsi tokoh dan latar tempat yang mencerminkan masyarakat kelas menengah di perkotaan. Selain itu, terdapat deskripsi representasi kelas menengah perkotaan yang ditunjukkan melalui konsumsi simbolik, pendidikan, dan konsumsi perumahan dalam metropop Home Sweet Loan karya Almira Bastari. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This research aims to describe two narrative building elements, namely characters and settings, and to depict the representation of the urban middle class in the metropop novel Home Sweet Loan by Almira Bastari. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive with a sociological literary approach by Alan Swingewood and representation theory by Stuart Hall. The analysis results consist of descriptions of characters and settings that reflect the urban middle-class society. Furthermore, there is a description of the representation of the urban middle class, demonstrated through symbolic consumption, education, and housing consumption in Almira Bastari's metropop novel Home Sweet Loan. |
