| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | ABSTRAK Aji Muhammad Kahfi, J1A016043 : An Analysis of Slang Words Used in the Song Lyrics in the Album Entitled “the Rasmus”. Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto 2023. Tulisan ini membahas tentang penelitian terhadap penggunaan bahasa Inggris slang pada lirik-lirik lagu dalam sebuah album yang berjudul the Rasmus. Lebih lanjut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kata-kata slang pada lirik lagu tersebut, menganalisnya, beserta menyajikannya dalam sebuah tulisan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Adapun data penelitian diperoleh dari sebuah album lagu yang berjudul the Rasmus tadi. Penulis menemukan beberapa kosakata slang. Penggunaan slang ini kemudian dianalisis untuk mengidentifikasi fungsi dari slang itu sendiri pada setiap lirik lagu. Peneliti berkesimpulan bahwa penggunaan slang pada album tersebut erat kaitannya dengan target pasar dari lagu tersebut yang menyasar anak-anak muda. | Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | ABSTRACT Aji Muhammad Kahfi. J1A016043 : An Analysis of Slang Words Used in the Song Lyrics in the Album Entitled “the Rasmus”. Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto 2023. This research deals with the slang word analysis in the Rasmus song lyrics in their second album entitled “the Rasmus”. This study aims to identify the types of slang words in the song lyrics in the album in question as well as to analyze the slang words in them. This study applies a descriptive qualitative research as a method of analysis. The research data were taken from the album entitled “the Rasmus”. The data were analyzed by identifying the songs into four types of process, classifying the word in each type of slang, analyzing the data into the slang word. It was found that there were a number of slang words in the album. The slangs come in several forms like words or phrases. The researcher realized that the words were slang which were found in the song lyrics of the Rasmus album by reading all the lyrics in detail and analyzing the word by trying to find the correct word or the real meaning, then the researcher can decide the word was called as slang word.
