| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Semiotika adalah suatu pengetahuan tentang proses di mana objek menentukan atau mempengaruhi sesuatu seperti tanda, untuk menentukan atau mempengaruhi sesuatu melalui interpretasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana perempuan direpresentasikan di dalam film Moana dengan menggunakan teori semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce yang berupa icon, indeks, dan symbol serta menggunakan teori Tong (2009) untuk mengetahui adanya liberal feminism di film Moana. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskripsi kualitatif sebagai metode untuk menjawab rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah ditemukannya 24 tanda (8 icon, 8 index, dan 8 simbol) dan menemukan adanya liberal feminism (Equal liberty, Equal education, Equal right, dan the suffrage) yang sesuai dengan teori Tong (2009). Pada liberal feminism, terdapat 4 equal liberty, 2 equal education, 2 equal right dan tidak di temukannya the suffrage yang terdapat didalam hasil data tersebut. Sebagai saran bagi peneliti selanjutnya yang tertarik dengan topik ini dan termotivasi untuk mendapatkan informasi dan pemahaman lebih lanjut mengenai penggambaran perempuan dan eksistensi feminisme dalam film ini, disarankan untuk melakukan penelitian serupa dengan film Disney lainnya seperti The Little Mermaid atau menghadirkan film komposit lainnya untuk memperkaya keheterogenan dan kemungkinan variasi karya sastra yang dapat menjadi penemuan baru.

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Semiotics is a knowledge of the process in which objects determine or influence something like a sign, to determine or influence something through interpretation. This study aims to analyze how women are represented in the film Moana by using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory in the form of icons, indexes, and symbols and using Tong's theory (2009) to determine the existence of liberal feminism in the Moana movie. This research uses qualitative description research method as a method to answer the problem formulation of this research. The result of this research is 24 signs (8 icon, 8 index, dan 8 simbol) and found the existence of liberal feminism (Equal liberty, Equal education, Equal right, and the suffrage) in accordance with Tong's theory (2009). In liberal feminism, there are 4 equal liberty, 2 equal education, 2 equal right and there is no suffrage found in the data results. As a suggestion for future researchers who are interested in this topic and motivated to gain further information and understanding regarding the portrayal of women and the existence of feminism in this film, it is suggested to conduct similar research with other Disney films such as The Little Mermaid or presenting other composite films to enrich the heterogeneity and possible variations of literary works that can become new discoveries.
