| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Judi sabung ayam adalah praktik bertaruh pada pertarungan ayam, yang biasanya diselenggarakan di arena tertentu. Fenomena judi sabung ayam bukanlah aktivitas baru di Indonesia, bahkan di Kelurahan Grendeng, yang secara administratif terletak di Kecamatan Purwokerto Utara, yang terkenal dekat dengan Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, fenomena ini telah ada sejak lama. Penulis tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian dengan judul 'Judi Sabung Ayam: Antara Ada dan Tiada (Studi di Kelurahan Grendeng, Kecamatan Purwokerto Utara, Kabupaten Banyumas).' Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami persepsi para peserta judi sabung ayam, persepsi masyarakat sekitar terhadap judi sabung ayam, dan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keberadaan judi sabung ayam di Kelurahan Grendeng, Kecamatan Purwokerto Utara, Kabupaten Banyumas. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling untuk memilih subjek penelitian. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif interaktif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi para peserta judi sabung ayam menganggapnya sebagai hobi, dan mereka sadar akan dampak ekonomi dan kontradiksi dengan hukum Negara Republik Indonesia. Para peserta melihat peluang untuk menghasilkan uang melalui pembiakan ayam aduan. Masyarakat sekitar melihat judi sabung ayam berpotensi memupuk kemalasan di kalangan individu. Mereka tidak melihat dampak langsung yang signifikan, namun judi sabung ayam dianggap memiliki efek buruk pada lingkungan dan memberikan contoh negatif terkait perjudian. Peran masyarakat diperlukan untuk mengurangi judi sabung ayam, dan masyarakat sekitar menunjukkan ciri ketidakpedulian terhadap lingkungan mereka. Judi sabung ayam dilakukan di tempat-tempat tersembunyi, dan pengawasan orang tua berperan dalam mencegah generasi baru peserta judi sabung ayam. Selain itu, jumlah personel yang tidak mencukupi di Kepolisian Sektor Purwokerto Utara (POLSEK) menjadi keterbatasan karena mereka bertanggung jawab atas seluruh wilayah Purwokerto Utara. Fenomena judi sabung ayam telah tertanam dalam masyarakat, dan sejarahnya bermula dari waktu yang lama. Peran pemerintah desa, pemimpin masyarakat, tokoh agama, dan lembaga akademis seperti Universitas Jenderal Soedirman sangat penting. Semua elemen harus bekerja sama secara sinergis untuk mengatasi masalah judi sabung ayam, karena aktivitas ini masuk dalam perilaku menyimpang dan melanggar hukum negara. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Cockfighting gambling is a practice of betting on cockfights, which are usually held in a specific arena. The phenomenon of cockfighting gambling is not a new activity in Indonesia, and even in the Grendeng Village, administratively located in North Purwokerto Sub-district, which is notably close to the well-known Jenderal Soedirman University, it has been prevalent for a long time. The author is interested in conducting research with the title 'Cockfighting Gambling : Between Existence and Non-Existence (A Study in Grendeng Village, North Purwokerto Sub-district, Banyumas Regency). This research aims to understand the perceptions of the cockfighting gambling participants, the perceptions of the surrounding community towards cockfighting gambling, and to identify the factors influencing the existence of cockfighting gambling in Grendeng Village, North Purwokerto Sub-district, Banyumas Regency. The study employs a qualitative approach using purposive sampling technique to select research subjects. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is interactive descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the perceptions of cockfighting gambling participants view it as a hobby, and they are aware of its economic impact and its contradiction with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Participants see the opportunity to make money by breeding fighting roosters. The surrounding community perceives cockfighting gambling as potentially fostering laziness among individuals. They don’t perceive significant direct impacts, but cockfighting gambling is considered to have adverse effects on the environment and sets a negative example for gambling. The role of the community is necessary to reduce cockfighting gambling, and the surrounding community displays a characteristic of indifference towards their environment. Cockfighting gambling is conducted in hidden places, and parental control plays a preventive role in reducing the new generation of cockfighting gambling participants. Additionally, the insufficient number of personnel in the North Purwokerto Police Sub-District (POLSEK) is a limitation as they are responsible for the entire North Purwokerto region. The phenomenon of cockfighting gambling has been ingrained in society, and its history dates back to a long time ago. The roles of the village government, community leaders, religious figures, and academic institutions like Jenderal Soedirman University are crucial. All elements must collaborate synergistically to address the issue of cockfighting gambling, as this activity falls under deviant behavior and violates the laws of the country. |
