| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penanda–penanda kohesi yang ditemukan dalam artikel berita mengenai isu pemilihan Gubernur Yogyakarta secara langsung dalam The Jakarta Post online yang berjudul SBY, Sultan ‘must meet’ to end debate on Yogyakarta, dan untuk menjelaskan Kontribusi penanda-penanda kohesi tersebut dalam menciptakan koherensi pada artikel tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menganalisis dan memproses data. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah penanda kohesi yang terdapat dalam 24 paragraf yang mana paragraf ke-24 berada pada sub-judul. Penanda-penanda kohesi yang ditemukan tersebut dianalisis terhadap koherensi artikel. Disimpulkan bahwa artikel yang berhubungan dengan isu pemilihan Gubernur Yogyakarta secara langsung dalam The Jakarta Post online yang berjudul SBY, Sultan ‘must meet’ to end debate on Yogyakarta merupakan teks yang koheren karena terdapat penanda-penanda kohesi, penanda kohesi gramatikal dan lexikal. Penanda-penanda kohesi yang ditemukan dalam artikel ini memiliki hubungan semantis dalam tiap paragraf dan juga antar paragraf yang menjadikan paragraf-pargraf tersebut koheren. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Abstract: The goals of this paper are to describe cohesive devices found in news article related to the issue of Yogyakarta’s Governor direct election in The Jakarta Post online entitled SBY, Sultan ‘must meet’ to end debate on Yogyakarta, and to explain the contribution of cohesive devices found in creating coherence on the article. The research employed a Descriptive Qualitative Method to analyze and to process the data. The data are cohesive devices laid on 24 paragraphs of the article in which the 24th paragraph of those paragraphs is in the subheading. Then, the cohesive devices found are analyzed on the coherence of the article. The result of data analyses shows that the article related to the issue of Yogyakarta’s Governor direct election in The Jakarta Post online entitled SBY, Sultan ‘must meet’ to end debate on Yogyakarta is categorized as a coherent text because of the occurrences of cohesive devices, grammatical and lexical cohesive devices. The occurrences of cohesive devices in the article make the semantic relations within the paragraph and also among the paragraphs that create the coherence on the paragraphs. |
