S.S, M.A. Penelitian dengan judul “Mother Figure Depicted on Everything My Mother Taught Me by Alice Hoffman (2019)” bertujuan untuk menemukan figur ibu baik di dalam diri ibu biologis maupun ibu non biologis dalam persepsi Adeline sebagai tokoh utama di cerita pendek “Everything My mother Taught Me” karya Alice Hoffman (2019). Dalam melakukan penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk menganalisis data. Penelitian ini menggunakan data seperti; cerita pendek berjudul “Everything My Mother Taught Me” karya Alice Hoffman (2019), buku-buku, jurnal, artikel-artikel, serta penelitian-penelitian online yang berkaitan dengan psikologi sastra, keibuan, figure ibu, serta karakter dan karakterisasi. Untuk menganalisa data, penelti menggunakan teori motherhood dan mothering sebagai grand theory. Hanya ada satu diskusi dalam penelitian ini yaitu figure ibu yang terbentuk berdasarkan pada ketidaklengkapan keibuan dari Nora Ivie, serta keibuan yang dilakukan oleh Julia meliputi merawat nak yang bukan anak kandungnya. Hasil dari penelitian ini, figure ibu tidak ada pada Nora Ivie sebagai ibu biologis. Sebaliknya, figure ibu tergambarkan pada Julia yang tidak memiliki ikatan darah dengan Adeline. Figur ibu ini dapat terlihat dari tampilan cinta, kepedulian, perlindungan, dan dukungan. Kata kunci: Figure Ibu, Ibu, Keibuan, Sifat Ibu |

Hum, Ph.D. External Examiner: Dr. Lynda Susana W.A.F, S.S, M.A. The research entitled “Mother Figure Depicted in Everything My Mother Taught Me (2019)” aims to find out the issue of mother figure whether in biological mother or non-biological mother in Adeline’s perception as the main character of Everything My Mother Taught Me by Alice Hoffman (2019). In constructing this research, the researcher applied a qualitative method to analyse the data. This research uses a short story entitled Everything My Mother Taught Me by Alice Hoffman (2019), books, journals, articles, and online research related to psychology literature, motherhood, mothering, and character and characterization as the data. To analyse the data, the researcher uses motherhood and mothering theory as the grand theory. The discussion is only one chapter, it is the shape of the mother figure based on Nora Ivie’s incomplete motherhood and Julia’s mothering work in nurturing the child. The result of this study shows that the mother figure in Everything My Mother Taught Me by Alice Hoffman (2019) does not exist in the biological mother. On the contrary, it exists in another woman who has no blood relation with Adeline. This mother figure can be seen from the display of love, care, protection, and support.
