| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Streptococcus grup A merupakan salah satu jenis Streptococcus sp yang sering menimbulkan infeksi pada kulit dan kerongkongan. Mencuci tangan dengan menggunakan sabun merupakan bentuk pencegahan yang tepat untuk mengurangi infeksi Streptococcus grup A. Sabun yang mengandung antibakteri triclosan diyakini mampu menghancurkan dan menekan pertumbuhan mikroorganisme. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan triclosan menghambat pertumbuhan isolat Streptococcus grup A. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen murni menggunakan rancangan post test only with control group dengan 1 kelompok kontrol (Mueller-Hinton dan suspensi kuman) dan 5 kelompok uji (Mueller-Hinton, suspensi kuman dan konsentrasi triclosan 0,1%; 0,2%; 0,3%; 0,4%; 0,5%). Sampel penelitian ini berasal dari swab tangan 3 orang petugas cleaning servise. Efektivitas triclosan terhadap penghambatan pertumbuhan isolat Streptococcus grup A diukur dari persentase penghambatan pertumbuhan isolat Streptococcus grup A. Persentase penghambatan tiap konsentrasi triclosan menunjukan hasil penghambatan lebih dari 50%. Hasil uji Kruskal-Wallis menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan rerata persentase penghambatan yang bermakna antara kelompok uji yaitu dengan nilai p=0,051 (p<0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian ini antiseptik triclosan mampu menghambat pertumbuhan Streptococcus grup A tapi tidak menunjukan perbedaan bermakna penghambatan pertumbuhan antar kelompok. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Streptococcus group A is one type of Streptococcus sp which often cause infections of the skin and esophagus. Washing hands with soap is a form of the proper precautions to reduce the infection of Streptococcus group A. Antibacterial soaps containing triclosan is believed to destroy and suppress the growth of microorganisms. This study aimed to determine the ability of triclosan inhibits growth of isolates of Streptococcus group A. This study is purely experimental use only posttest design with control group with 1 control group (Mueller-Hinton and suspension germs) and 5 test group (Mueller-Hinton, suspension germs and triclosan concentration 0.1%; 0.2%; 0.3%, 0.4%, 0.5%). The sample taken from the hand swab cleaning servise 3 people officer. The effectiveness of triclosan on the inhibition of the growth of group A Streptococcus isolates measured by the percentage of growth inhibition isolates of Streptococcus group A. Percentage inhibition each triclosan concentrations showed inhibition more than 50% yield. Kruskal-Wallis test results showed no difference everage percentage inhibition significantly between the test groups with p = 0.051 (p <0.05). The conclusion of this study antiseptic triclosan could inhibit the growth of Streptococcus group A but did not show significant differences between the groups growth inhibition |
