| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi selenium yeast terhadap jumlah leukosit dan diferensial leukosit ayam niaga petelur. Materi penelitian zenggunakan 80 ekor ayam petelur strain Hy-Line Brown umur 36 minggu. Metode penelitian eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan yang diujicobakan terdiri atas : S0 kontrol (pakan basal tanpa selenium yeast), S1 (0,2 mg/kg selenium yeast dalam pakan basal), S2 (0,4 mg/kg selenium yeast dalam pakan basal), S3( 0,5 mg/kg selenium yeast dalam pakan basal). Setiap perlakuan diulang 5 kali, sehingga terdapat 20 unit percobaan. Masing-masing unit percobaan terdiri dari 4 ekor ayam niaga petelur. Peubah yang diukur meliputi: jumlah leukosit dan diferensial leukosit. Pengambilan sampel darah dilakukan pada satu ekor ayam secara acak pada setiap unit percobaan melalui vena brachialis kemudian dimasukan kedalam tabung antikoagulan, sehingga total jumlah sampel darah 20 dengan metode apus darah dan pewarnaan giemsa. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan analisis variansi satu arah (one way anova). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rataan jumlah leukosit ayam niaga petelur yang disuplementasikan selenium yeast sampai level 0,6 mg/kg yaitu 12.387±137,58 sel/µl (jumlah standar normal 10.000-30.000 sel/µl) dengan persentase heterofil sebanyak 34,04%, eosinofil sebanyak 0,63%, limfosit sebanyak 41,14%, dan monosit sebanyak 8,00% dari total jumlah leukosit. Analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi selenium yeast berpengaruh tidak nyata (P<0,05) terhadap jumlah leukosit dan diferensial leukosit ayam niaga petelur. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu suplementasi selenium yeast sampai level 0,6 mg/kg pakan memberikan respon yang relatif sama pada jumlah leukosit dan diferensial leukosit ayam niaga petelur. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This study aims to determine the effect of selenium yeast supplementation on leukocytes count and leukocyte differential of commercial laying hens. The research material used 80 laying hens of the Hy-Line Brown strain aged 36 weeks. Experimental research method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatments tested consisted of: S0 control (basal ration without selenium yeast), S1 (0.2 mg/kg selenium yeast in basal ration), S2 (0.4 mg/kg selenium yeast in basal ration), S3 (0, 5 mg/kg selenium yeast in basal ration). Each treatment was repeated 5 times, so there were 20 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 4 laying hens. Variables measured included: leukocyte count and leukocyte differential. Blood samples were taken from one chicken at random in each experimental unit, so that the total number of blood samples was 20. Analysis of the research data used one-way analysis of variance (one way ANOVA). The results showed that the average leukocyte count of commercial laying hens supplemented with selenium yeast reached a level of 0.6 mg/kg, namely 12.387±137,58 sel/µl (normal standard amount 10.000-30.000 sel/µl), with a heterophile percentage of 34.04%, eosinophils 0.63%, lymphocytes 41.14%, and monocytes as much as 9.00% of the total number of leukocytes. Analysis of variance showed that selenium yeast supplementation had no significant effect (P<0.05) on leukocyte count and leukocyte differential in commercial laying hens. The conclusion of this study was that selenium yeast supplementation up to a level of 0.6 mg/kg of feed gave no significant response to the increase in leukocyte count and leukocyte differential in commercial laying hens. |
