| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan sodium bikarbonat dan pakan konsentrat fermentasi terhadap konsumsi protein dan retensi nitrogen domba. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 12 Juli – 27 Agustus 2022 di kandang percobaan Jl. Suparto No. 22, Desa Kutasari, Kecamatan Baturaden, Kabupaten Banyumas; dan Laboratorium Ilmu Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Materi yang digunakan yaitu 18 ekor domba jantan berumur 7 – 8 bulan dengan rataan bobot awal 19,44 ± 2,37 kg. Pakan dasar yang diberikan yaitu jerami padi amoniasi (25%) dan konsentrat (75%). Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental in vivo dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK). Kelompok yang diterapkan yaitu bobot badan domba awal penelitian sekaligus sebagai ulangan sebanyak 6 kelompok. Perlakuan yang diuji yaitu P1= Jerami padi amoniasi (25%) + Pakan konsentrat (75%); P2= Jerami padi amoniasi (25%) + Pakan konsentrat (75%) + sodium bikarbonat (0,75%); dan P3= Jerami padi amoniasi (25%) + Pakan konsentrat (75%) fermentasi dengan Saccharomyces cerevisiae 3% + sodium bikarbonat (0,75%). Variabel yang diukur yaitu konsumsi protein dan retensi nitrogen domba. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi dengan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ). Rataan konsumsi protein pada penelitian ini yaitu pada P1 (129,58 ± 10,84 g/ekor/hari); P2 (127,38 ± 15,46 g/ekor/hari); dan P3 (161,11 ± 5,32 g/ekor/hari), sedangkan rataan retensi nitrogen yang diperoleh yaitu P1 (84,51 ± 5,50 g/ekor/hari); P2 (83,65 ± 7,59 g/ekor/hari); dan P3 (117,16 ± 12,46 g/ekor/hari). Berdasarkan hasil analisis Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa pemberian sodium bikarbonat dan pakan konsentrat fermentasi dengan Saccharomyces cerevisiae berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap variabel yang diukur, dengan peningkatan konsumsi protein sebesar 24,33% dan retensi nitrogen sebesar 38,64% jika dibandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The study aimed to examine the effect of sodium bicarbonate and fermented concentrate feed on protein consumption and sheep nitrogen retention. The research was carried out from 12 July to 27 August 2022 at the experimental enclosure on Jl. Suparto No. 22, Desa Kutasari, Kecamatan Baturaden, Kabupaten Banyumas; and Animal Nutrition and Feed Science Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Science, Jenderal Soedirman University. The material used was 18 male local sheep aged 7-8 months with a mean body weight value of 19.44 ± 2.37 kg. The feed used was ammoniated rice straw (25%) and concentrate (75%). The study used an in vivo experimental method with a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The group that was applied was the body weight of the sheep at the beginning of the study as well as 6 groups of replicates. The treatment given was P1= ammoniated rice straw (25%) + concentrate feed (75%); P2= Amoniated rice straw (25%) + concentrate feed (75%) + sodium bicarbonate; and P3= Amoniated rice straw (25%) + Concentrate feed (75%) fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisiae 3% + sodium bicarbonate. The variables measured were protein consumption and nitrogen retention of sheep. The data obtained were then analyzed using analysis of variance with the Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test. The mean value of protein consumption in this study was P1 (129.58 ± 10.84 g/head/day); P2 (127.38 ± 15.46 g/head/day); and P3 (161.11 ± 5.32 g/head/day), while the average nitrogen retention obtained was P1 (84.51 ± 5.50 g/head/day); P2 (83.65 ± 7.59 g/head/day); and P3 (117.16 ± 12.46 g/head/day). Based on the results of the Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) analysis conducted, showed that the provision of sodium bicarbonate and fermented concentrate feed with Saccharomyces cerevisiae had a very significant effect on the variables measured, with an increase in protein consumption of 24.33% and nitrogen retention of 38.64% when compared to the control treatment. |
