Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kemampuan dan efektifitas dari tutupan tanaman apu-apu (Pistia stratiotes) terhadap sintasan (kelulushidupan) dan laju pertumbuhan ikan nila. Tanaman apu-apu memiliki kemampuan dalam meningkatkan kualitas air sehingga secara langsung akan berpengaruh terhadap dua hal tersebut. Parameter utama yang diukur ada dua yaitu nilai sintasan (SR) dan laju pertumbuhan ikan, sedangkan parameter fisik dan kimia air yang diukur adalah amonia bebas, suhu, pH, oksigen terlarut dan karbondioksida bebas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Pistia stratiotes memiliki kemampuan dalam penyerapan amonia dan mampu memberikan naungan terhadap media budidaya sehingga berpengaruh pada kondisi suhu. Adapun nilai amonia berturut turut dari kontrol hingga P4 adalah 0,0118 ppm, 0,0068 ppm, 0,0064 ppm, 0,0021 ppm dan 0,0016 ppm. Sedangkan nilai suhu berturut-turut adalah 29-33oC, 29-32oC, 29-31oC, 27-30oC dan 27-30oC. Dengan kemampuan tersebut secara langsung juga berpengaruh terhadap sintasan dan laju pertumbuhan ikan. Nilai sintasan dan laju pertumbuhan ikan terbaik adalah pada perlakuan tutupan tanaman apu-apu 50% (P2) dengan nilai 76,67% (SR), 1,73% (SGR) dan 1,591 cm (Lm). |

Inggris) | This study aims to look at the capabilities and effectiveness of cover plant Apu-apu (Pistia stratiotes) on survival rate and the rate of growth of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Apu-apu has the ability to improve water quality so that it will directly affect two things. The main parameters that there are two values observed survival rate (SR) and the growth rate of fish (growth based on weight / SGR and growth based on length), while the physical and chemical parameters of water were observed ammonia, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and free carbon dioxide. The results showed that Pistia stratiotes have the ability in the absorption of ammonia and to provide shade to the culture medium so that have effect on the temperature conditions. The value of ammonia in a row of controls to P4 is 0.0118 ppm, 0.0068 ppm, 0.0064 ppm, 0.0021 ppm and 0.0016 ppm. While the suhue values are respectively 29-33oC, 29-32oC, 29-31oC, 27-30oC and 27-30oC. With these capabilities also directly affect the survival and growth of fish.
