| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Hair tonic ekstrak etanol daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum L.) merupakan alternatif yang dapat digunakan sebagai kosmetik antiketombe. Ekstrak etanol daun kemangi memiliki kandungan flavonoid, tanin, saponin dan minyak atsiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan formula terbaik sediaan hair tonic yang memiliki sifat fisik dan stabilitas fisik serta memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian eksperimental ini meliputi pembuatan sediaan hair tonic, pengujian sifat fisik dan aktivitas antibakteri. Hair tonic diformulasikan dengan 4 variasi konsentrasi yang berbeda yang mengandung 0,5% (formula I); 1% (formula II); dan 1,5% (formula III). Pengamatan organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, viskositas dianalisis secara deskriptif. Sedangkan aktivitas antibakteri dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa semua formula sediaan hair tonic ekstrak etanol daun kemangi (O. basilicum L.) memenuhi persyaratan sifat fisik. Sediaan hair tonic ekstrak etanol daun kemangi (O. basilicum L.) dengan konsentrasi 0,5% (formula I); 1% (formula II); dan 1,5% (formula III) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap S. aureus. Sediaan hair tonic yang paling stabil yaitu formula III dengan konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun kemangi 1,5%, karena memiliki sifat fisik yang paling baik diantara formula lain dan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dengan zona hambat sebesar 12,8 mm dengan kategori kuat. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Hair tonic ethanol extract of basil leaves (Ocimum basilicum L.) is an alternative that can be used as an anti-dandruff cosmetic. The ethanol extract of basil leaves contains flavonoids, tannins, saponins and essential oils. This study aims to obtain the best formula for hair tonic preparation which has physical properties and physical stability and has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. This experimental research involved making hair tonic preparations, testing their physical properties and antibacterial activity. Hair tonic is formulated with 4 different concentration variations containing 0.5% (formula I); 1% (formula II); and 1.5% (formula III). Organoleptic observations, homogeneity, pH, viscosity were analyzed descriptively. While the antibacterial activity was analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis test. The results showed that all hair tonic formulations of ethanol extract of basil leaves (O. basilicum L.) met the requirements for physical properties. Preparation of hair tonic ethanol extract of basil leaves (O. basilicum L.) with a concentration of 0.5% (formula I); 1% (formula II); and 1.5% (formula III) has antibacterial activity against S. aureus. The most stable hair tonic preparation is formula III with a concentration of 1.5% basil leaf ethanol extract, because it has the best physical properties among other formulas and has antibacterial activity with an inhibition zone of 12.8 mm in the strong category. |
