| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Tanaman pare merupakan tanaman sayuran yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi sehingga sangat potensial dikembangkan bagi pelaku usaha tani. Salah satu keberhasilan dalam budidaya pare adalah dengan menggunakan benih yang berkualitas yang tumbuh menjadi bibit yang vigor saat disemai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan benih terhadap pertumbuhan semai pare. 2) Mengetahui pengaruh media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan semai pare, dan 3) Mengetahui interaksi antara perlakuan benih dan komposisi media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan semai pare. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di Screenhouse Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto mulai November sampai Desember 2022. Perlakuan benih terdiri dari pemotongan+perendaman benih dan komposisi media semai. Pemotongan dan perendaman benih meliputi: P1 (dipotong, direndam), P2 (dipotong, tanpa direndam), P3 (tanpa dipotong, direndam), dan P4 (tanpa dipotong, tanpa direndam). Media semai benih terdiri atas: tanah, tanah+pupuk kandang (1:1), dan tanah+arang sekam (1:1). Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan Uji F pada taraf 5% dan 1%, dan bila perlakuan berpengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) taraf kesalahan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukan perlakuan benih berpengaruh terhadap laju pertumbuhan semai pare. Perlakuan benih tidak berpengaruh terhadap tinggi bibit, luas daun, panjang akar, jumlah daun, bobot segar, bobot kering, persentase perkecambahan, dan IVH. Media tanam tanah: pupuk kandang dengan perbandingan 1:1 merupakan media yang baik dan berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan semai pare. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak adanya interaksi antara perlakuan benih dengan media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan semai pare. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Bitter gourd is a vegetable plant that has high economic value, so it has the potential to be developed for farming businesses. One of the secrets to cultivating bitter melon successfully is using quality seeds that grow into vigorous plants when sown. This study aims to 1) Determine the effect of seed treatment on the growth of bitter gourd seedlings. 2) Knowing the effect of planting media on the growth of bitter gourd seedlings; and 3) Knowing the interaction between seed treatment and the composition of the planting medium on the growth of bitter gourd seedlings. The research was carried out at the Screenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto, from November to December 2022. The seed treatment consisted of cutting and soaking the seeds, as well as the composition of the seedling media. Cutting and soaking the seeds include: P1 (cut, soaked), P2 (cut, without soaking), P3 (without cutting, soaking), and P4 (without cutting, without soaking). The seedling medium consists of soil, soil: manure (1:1), and soil: husk charcoal (1:1). Observational data were analyzed using the F test at the 5% and 1% level, and if the treatment had a significant effect, it was continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with an error level of 5%. The results showed that seed treatment had an effect on the growth rate of bitter gourd seedlings. Seed treatment had no effect on seedling height, leaf area, root length, number of leaves, fresh weight, dry weight, germination percentage, or IVH. Soil planting medium: manure with a ratio of 1:1 is a good medium and affects the growth of bitter gourd seedlings. The results showed that there was no interaction between seed treatment and planting medium on the growth of bitter gourd seedling. |
