Judul ArtikelDIVERSITY OF TREES ON THE EAST SLOPE OF MOUNT SLAMET
Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)The Mount Slamet Forest Ecosystem serves a variety of purposes. One of its functions is to act as a protected forest, prevent erosion, landslides, and maintain water systems in the area below it. The forest ecosystem of Mount Slamet contains various types of trees that characterize the mountain. However, due to the increasing demand for land, the diversity of tree species in the Mount Slamet forest ecosystem is starting to be threatened by the use of forests for the development of agricultural systems. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the diversity of tree species that compose the forest ecosystem of the East Slope of Mount Slamet, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java.
This research conducted using a survey method while the sampling technique use a quadrat. The quadrat made in the direction of the altitude from 1.250 m asl to 2.250 m asl. On the quadrat at each altitude a sampling plot made with a size of 10m x 10m. The sampling plots were made to observe the diversity of tree species in each altitude location. The tree parameters observed consisted of tree species, trunk diameter and tree height. Tree data analyzed using diversity index analysis, species evenness index, significance value index, and community similarity index. The results showed that an altitude of 1250 m above sea level is dominated by Litsea bindoniana with an INP value of 74.45%. An altitude of 1500 m asl found 7 species, the species with the highest INP value was Litsea bindoniana at 65.00%. An altitude of 2000 m above sea level found 10 species, the species with the highest INP value was Symplocos sp. by 71.01%. An altitude of 2,250 m asl found 5 species, the species with the highest INP value was Pornetia sp. by 153.84%.
