| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) perwatakan tokoh utama dalam novel Orang-Orang Biasa karya Andrea Hirata (2) konflik psikis tokoh utama dalam novel Orang-Orang Biasa karya Andrea Hirata dengan teori psikoanalisis milik Sigmund Freud. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini berupa kata-kata atau frase dalam novel Orang-Orang Biasa karya Andrea Hirata. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan psikologi sastra teori psikoanalisis milik Sigmund Freud. Penelitian ini merupakan penilitian deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun fokus penelitian ini adalah perwatakan tokoh utama dan konflik psikis yang dialami tokoh utama. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca dan catat. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini berupa teknik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dalam penelitian ini meliputi perwatakan tokoh utama dan konflik psikis dalam novel Orang-Orang Biasa karya Andrea Hirata. Perwatakan tokoh utama (Debut Awaludin) meliputi perhatian, bijaksana, berpikiran maju, tegas, simpatik, percaya diri, idealis, dan berani melawan, namun dalam kondisi tertentu Debut Awaludin juga memiliki watak yang kurang baik yaitu nekat. Sedangkan konflik psikis yang dialami tokoh utama meliputi kemarahan, keberanian, penyesalan, dan ketakutan. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa ego adalah struktur kepribadian yang sering mendominasi dalam diri Debut Awaludin sebagai sosok yang berpikir rasional dan mengedepankan fakta dalam perjuangan hidupnya. Id dalam diri Debut Awaludin sebagai naluri dasar untuk bertindak juga mempengaruhi psikisnya. Super ego dalam diri Debut Awaludin juga menuntunnya untuk mengendalikan ego ketika akan melakukan sesuatu baik dalam hal tindakan ataupun perkataan karena super ego bentuk pengontrol diri suatu tokoh. Ketiga struktur kepribadian tersebut yaitu id, ego, dan super ego tersirat dan tersurat pada tokoh utama dalam novel Orang-Orang Biasa karya Andrea Hirata.

Inggris) | This study aims to describe (1) the representation of the main character in the novel Ordinary People by Andrea Hirata (2) the psychic conflict of the main character in the novel Ordinary People by Andrea Hirata with Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory. The source of the data in this study is in the form of words or phrases in the novel Orang-Orang Biasa by Andrea Hirata. This research uses the literary psychological psychology approach of Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The focus of this research is the representation of the main character and the psychic conflicts experienced by the main character. Data collection techniques use read and record techniques. The data analysis technique in this study is in the form of a descriptive technique. The results of the research in this study include the representation of the main character and psychic conflicts in the novel Ordinary People by Andrea Hirata. The representation of the main character (Debut Awaludin) includes being considerate, wise, forward-thinking, firm, sympathetic, confident, idealistic, and daring to resist, but under certain conditions Debut Awaludin also has a bad disposition, namely recklessness. Meanwhile, the psychic conflicts experienced by the main character include anger, courage, regret, and fear. From the results of the study it was found that the ego is a personality structure that often dominates in the person of Debut Awaludin as a figure who thinks rationally and puts forward facts in his life struggles. The id in The Debut Awaludin as a basic instinct to act also influenced his psychic. The super ego in Debut Awaludin also led him to control the ego when he was going to do something either in terms of actions or words because the super ego is a form of self-control of a character. The three personality structures, namely id, ego, and super ego are implied and expressed in the main character in the novel Ordinary People by Andrea Hirata.
