| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Latar Belakang. Penelitian berjudul “Pengaruh Suplementasi Selenium Yeast terhadap Bobot dan Haugh Unit Telur Ayam Niaga Petelur”. Selenium yeast merupakan selenium organik yang akan membentuk selenoprotein di dalam tubuh setelah berikatan dengan asam amino metionin untuk meningkatkan bobot dan haugh unit telur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh level suplementasi selenium yeast dalam pakan ayam niaga petelur terhadap bobot dan haugh unit telur ayam niaga petelur. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 1 Juni sampai dengan 1 Agustus 2022, bertempat di Experimental Farm dan Laboratorium Produksi Ternak Unggas Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Materi dan Metode. Materi penelitian yang digunakan adalah ayam niaga petelur umur 35 minggu sebanyak 80 ekor. Bahan penelitian terdiri atas : selenium yeast, pakan ayam periode produksi dari PT New Hope Indonesia dengan kandungan nutrient protein kasar 16,5%, lemak 3%, Serat Kasar 7%, Ca 3,25-4,25%, P 0,6%. Penelitian menggunakan metode experimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu S0 = Pakan basal (kontrol); S₁ = 0,2 mg selenium yeast dalam 1 kg pakan basal; S₂ = 0,4 mg selenium yeast dalam 1 kg pakan basal; S₃ = 0,6 mg selenium yeast dalam 1 kg pakan basal. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi dilanjutkan dengan uji ortogonal polinomial. Hasil. Bobot telur ayam niaga petelur yang diberi suplementasi selenium yeast dalam pakan yaitu S0 61,90±1,44 g, S₁ 61,88±1,52 g, S₂ 61,91±2,64 g, dan S₃ 61,51±0,98 g. Nilai haugh unit telur ayam niaga petelur yang diberi suplementasi selenium yeast dalam pakan yaitu S0 101,75±1,49, S₁ 104,48±2,36, S₂ 103,41±3,29, dan S₃ 103,52±1,26. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi selenium yeast dalam pakan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot dan haugh unit telur ayam niaga petelur. Simpulan. Kesimpulan yang bisa diambil dari penelitian ini adalah pemberian suplementasi selenium yeast 0,2-0,6 mg/kg pakan basal tidak mampu meningkatkan bobot dan haugh unit telur ayam niaga petelur. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Background. The study entitled “The Effect of Selenium Yeast Supplementation on The Egg Weight and Haugh Unit of Commercial Laying Hens”. Selenium yeast is an organic selenium that will form selenoprotein in the body after binding to the methionine to increase the weight and haugh unit of eggs. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of selenium yeast in the diet of laying hens on the weight and haugh unit of commercial laying hens eggs. The research was carried out on 1st June to 1st August 2022, at the Experimental Farm and Poultry Production Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Science, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. Materials and Methods. The research material used was 80 laying hens aged 35 weeks. The research material consisted of: selenium yeast, complete feed for the production period laying hens from PT New Hope Indonesia with a nutrient content of 16.5% crude protein, 3% fat, 7% crude fiber, Ca 3.25-4.25%, P 0.6%. The study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD), 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments given were S₀ = Basal feed (control); S₁ = 0.2 mg selenium yeast in 1 kg basal feed; S₂ = 0.4 mg selenium yeast in 1 kg basal feed; S₃ = 0.6 mg selenium yeast in 1 kg of basal feed. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance followed by the orthogonal polynomial test. Results. The egg weight of laying hens that supplemented with selenium yeast in the feed was S0 61.90±1.44 g, S₁ 61.88±1.52 g, S₂ 61.91±2.64 g, dan S₃ 61.51±0.98 g. The haugh unit value of egg of laying hens that supplemented with selenium yeast in the feed was S0 101.75±1.49, S₁ 104.48±2.36, S₂ 103.41±3.29, dan S₃ 103.52±1.26. The results of the analysis showed that yeast supplementation in the diet had no significant effect (P>0,05) on the weight and haugh unit of laying hens eggs. Conclusion. The conclusions from this research are the supplementation of selenium yeast 0.2-0.6 mg/kg basal feed did not to increase the weight and haugh unit of laying hens eggs. |
