Indonesia) | Penyakit periodontitis kronis merupakan penyakit gigi dan mulut yang banyak diderita masyarakat Indonesia dengan risiko terganggu fungsi pengunyahan serta kehilangan gigi. Kadar IL-10 pada periodontitis memiliki hubungan dengan kondisi inflamasi, yaitu menekan respon inflamasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian gel ekstrak etanolik teh hijau (Camellia sinensis) terhadap kadar IL-10 pada gingiva tikus Sprague dawley model periodontitis kronis. Jenis penelitian eksperimental laboratoris menggunakan 32 ekor tikus Sprague dawley jantan yang dibagi 6 kelompok yaitu kontrol sehat (K1), Kontrol Na-CMC (K2), Kontrol asam hialuronat (K3), Perlakuan gel ekstrak teh hijau 0,4% (P1), 0,8% (P2), dan 1,2% (P3) dengan teknik simple random sampling rancangan posttest-only control group design. Kadar IL-10 diperiksa dengan metode ELISA dan analisis data menggunakan One-way ANOVA dan Post Hoc LSD. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kadar IL-10 seiring dengan peningkatan pemberian konsentrasi gel ekstrak teh hijau, bahkan lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol positif (p≤0,05). Simpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh gel ekstrak teh hijau terhadap peningkatan kadar IL-10 pada gingiva tikus Sprague dawley model periodontitis kronis. Konsentrasi yang paling efektif meningkatkan kadar IL-10 terdapat pada gel ekstrak etanol teh hijau 1,2%. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Chronic periodontitis is an oral disease that mostly suffered by Indonesian people which can cause impaired masticatory function and tooth loss. IL-10 levels in periodontitis are related to inflammatory conditions. The aim of the study was to discover the effect of green tea (Camellia sinensis) ethanolic extract gel on IL-10 of the gingiva of chronic periodontitis rat model. The research method was experimental laboratory study with posttest-only control group design. Thirty-two male Sprague dawley rats were divided with simple random sampling technique into 6 groups: Healthy control (K1), Na-CMC negative control (K2), hyaluronic acid positive control (K3), 0,4% green tea extract gel treated (P1), 0,8% (P2), and 1,2% (P3). IL-10 levels were measured using ELISA method and statistic analysis data was conducted using One-way ANOVA and Post-hoc LSD. The results showed significant increase in IL-10 levels as along as the increase of concentration of green tea extract applied, even compared to the hyaluronic acid as positive control (p≤0,05). The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of green tea extract gel on the increase of gingival IL-10 levels in the Sprague Dawley rats model of chronic periodontitis. The green extract gel with 1,2% concentration is the effective concentration can increase gingival IL-10 levels compared to other groups. |
