Indonesia) | Permasalahan tentang kesehatan reproduksi khususnya tentang Penyakit Menular Seksual (PMS) yang diakibatkan karena perilaku seksual secara bebas menyebabkan adanya kenaikan jumlah infeksi PMS setiap tahun. LPPSLH adalah salah satu NGO di Purwokerto yang memiliki program pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk menganggulangi PMS. Tujuan program adalah untuk memperjuangkan kelompok marginal agar mendapatkan hak hidup dan fasilitas umum. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi komunikasi pemberdayaan masyarakat yang dilakukan LPPSLH dan untuk mengetahui faktor penghambat serta faktor pendukung program. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus dengan teori Difusi Inovasi. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dengan teknik purposive sampling, observasi, dan studi literatur. LPPSLH memiliki program kegiatan berupa sosialisasi, edukasi, tes PMS dan HIV/AIDS, pendampingan, dan advokasi. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pemberdayaan yang dilakukan LPPSLH melalui proses menentukan komunikator, komunikan, isi pesan, saluran komunikasi, efek, sumberdaya waktu, evaluasi, dan dalam proses pemberdayaan strategi komunikasi sangat dibuthkan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran WTS dan merubah perilaku WTS. Selama proses pemberdayaan WTS di Banyumas tidak lepas dari faktor penghambat dan pendukung. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Reproductive health issues, especially Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) caused by free sexual behavior cause an increase in the number of STD infections every year. LPPSLH is one of the NGO in Purwokerto that has a community empowerment program to management STD. The program's objective is to fight for marginalized groups to get the right to life and public facilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the communication strategy for community empowerment carried out by LPPSLH and to determine the inhibiting and supporting factors of the program. The research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach with the theory of Diffusion of Innovation. Collecting data through interviews with purposive sampling technique, observation, and literature study. LPPSLH has a program of activities in the form of socialization, education, STD and HIV/AIDS testing, mentoring, and advocacy.The results of the research show that the empowerment carried out by LPPSLH through the process of determining communicators, communicants, message content, communication channels, effects, time resources, evaluation, and in the process of empowering communication strategies was needed to increase female sex workers awareness and change behavior. During the process of empowering female sex workers in Banyumas, it cannot be separated from the inhibiting and supporting factors. |
