| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Ukuran luas ruang (kandang) merupakan salah satu perlakuan dalam menetukan keefektifan perilaku kawin Hermetia illucens atau Black Soldier Fly (BSF). Hal ini menjadi topik yang menarik untuk diteliti karena akan diketahui ukuran luas kandang yang tepat untuk keefektifan tingkat reproduksi H. illucens. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui ukuran luas kandang yang tepat untuk keefektifan performa reproduksi H.illucens berdasarkan jumlah telur yang dihasilkan, presentase telur yang menetas, serta rasio kelamin lalat BSF di setiap kandang. Pemanfaatan ukuran kandang yang tepat dapat dijadikan acuan dalam budidaya H. illucens. Variabel bebas berupa ukuran kandang, sedangkan variabel tergantung berupa performa reproduksi. Parameter yang diukur meliputi; 1). Jumlah telur; 2). Persentase telur yang menetas; 3). Rasio jantan dan betina pada setiap kandang. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan teknik sampling secara purposive. Pengamatan dilakukan pada kandang berukuran sebagai berikut : 100 x 100 x 200 cm3, 75 x 75 x 200 cm3, dan 50 x 50 x 200 cm3 masing-masing berisi seribu pupa BSF. Analisis yang digunakan yaitu analisa non parametric dengan uji Kruskal-Wallis, selanjutnya keterkaitan antar parameter dianalisis dengan uji korelasi. | Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The size of the space (cage) is one of the treatments in determining the effectiveness of mating behavior of Hermetia illucens or Black Soldier Fly (BSF). This is an interesting topic to be researched because it will know the right size of the cage for effectiveness of the reproductiove rate of H. illucens. The purpose of this study was determine the right size of the cage area for the effectiveness of reproductive performance of H. illucens based on the number of eggs produced, the percentage of eggs that hatched, and theratio of flies in each cage. Utilization of the right cage size can be used as a reference in the cultivation of H. illucens. The independent variable is the size of the cage, while the dependent variable is the reproductive performance. Parameters measured include: 1). Number of eggs; 2). Percentage of eggs hatched; 3). The ratio of male to female in each cage. The method used is an survey with purposive sampling technique. Observations were made in cages measuring as follows: 100 x 100 x 200 cm3, 75 x 75 x 200 cm3, and 50 x 50 x 200 cm3 and contains a thousand BSF pupae in each cage. The analysis used is non-parametric analysis with the Kruskal-Wallis test, then the relationship between parameters is analyzed by correlation test.
