Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar glukosa darah dan protein darah pada kambing yang diberi pakan suplementasi mineral kromium organik dengan level yang berbeda. Penelitian dilakukan di Gunung Tugel Farm dan Laboratorium Ilmu Bahan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kambing Jawarandu sebanyak 20 ekor dengan bobot rata-rata 25,12 ± 3,44 Kg. Pakan yang diberikan sebanyak 4% (dalam bahan kering) dari bobot badan. Rancangan yang digunakan yaitu rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode in vivo dengan empat perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan yang diuji cobakan yaitu R0 sebagai bakan basal (konsentrat 70% dan silase rumput gajah 30% dengan PK 15,33% dan TDN 69,14%), R1 (pakan basal + kromium organik 0,5 ppm), R2 (pakan basal + kromium organik 1,0 ppm), R3 (pakan basal + kromium organik 1,5 ppm). Variabel yang diukur yaitu kadar glukosa darah dan protein darah kambing. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi dan uji lanjut yang digunakan yaitu orthogonal polynomial. Rataan kadar glukosa darah yaitu R0 = 58,63 ± 8,48 mg/dL, R1 = 61,20 ± 11,84 mg/dL, R2 = 60,63 ± 11,35 mg/dL, dan R3 = 56,05 ± 8,35 mg/dL dan rataan kadar protein darah yaitu R0 = 6,64 ± 0,44 g/dL, R1 = 6,41 ± 0,32 g/dL, R2 = 6,26 ± 0,47 g/dL, R3 = 6,42 ± 0,77 g/dL. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kadar glukosa darah maupun kadar protein darah kambing. Kesimpulannya suplementasi kromium organik pada pakan kambing tidak mempengaruhi kadar glukosa darah dan protein darah kambing. Suplementasi kromium organik terhadap kadar glukosa darah cenderung lebih baik menggunakan 1,5 ppm dengan rataan 57,72 ± 5,70 mg/dL. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | ENDAH KURNIATI. This study aimed to determine blood glucose and blood protein levels in goats fed with different levels of organic chromium mineral supplementation. This study conducted in Gunung Tugel Farm , green house, and Feedstuff Laboratory of Animal Science Faculty, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. The materials were 20 Jawarandu goats with an average weight of 25.12 ± 3.44 Kg. The feed given was 4% (in dry matter) of body weight. The design used is a completely randomized design (CRD). This study used the in vivo method with four treatments and five replications. The treatments tested were R0 as basal feed (70% concentrate and 30% elephant grass silage with PK 15.33% and TDN 69.14%), R1 (basal feed + 0.5 ppm organic chromium), R2 (basal feed + 0.5 ppm organic chromium). + 1.0 ppm organic chromium), R3 (basal feed + 1.5 ppm organic chromium). The variables measured were blood glucose levels and goat blood protein. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance and the further test used was orthogonal polynomial. The means blood glucose levels were R0 = 58.63 ± 8.48 mg/dL, R1 = 61.20 ± 11.84 mg/dL, R2 = 60.63 ± 11.35 mg/dL, and R3 = 56.05 ± 8.35 mg/dL and the means blood protein level is R0 = 6.64 ± 0.44 g/dL, R1 = 6.41 ± 0.32 g/dL, R2 = 6.26 ± 0.47 g/ dL, R3 = 6.42 ± 0.77 g/dL. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on blood glucose levels and goat blood protein levels. Organic Chromium supplementation in goat feed didn’t affect blood glucose and blood protein levels of goats. Organic chromium supplementation on blood glucose levels tends to be better using 1.5 ppm with an average of 57.72 ± 5.70 mg/dL. |
