Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Latar Belakang: Diabetes Melitus Tipe II ditandai dengan hiperglikemia yang dapat meningkatkan radikal bebas dan mengalami stres oksidatif yang ditandai dengan rendahnya kadar superoksida dismutase (SOD) plasma. Minuman fungsional kaya antioksidan seperti yogurt kecambah kacang tolo (yocamcalo) diharapkan mampu memperbaiki status antioksidan SOD pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe II.
Metodologi: Penelitian eksperimental menggunakan rancangan randomized controlled trial (RCT) single blind. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Pengolahan Pangan dan Kuliner Ilmu Gizi Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Desa Purwosari Kecamatan Purwokerto Timur, Laboratorium Mediko Purwanegara, dan Laboratorium Karya Medika Slawi. Responden berjumlah 18 wanita, dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok, kelompok I (diberi yocamcalo) dan kelompok II (diberi plasebo). Diambil plasma darah untuk diukur kadar SOD plasma pada penderita Diabetes Melitus Tipe II sebelum dan setelah dilakukan intervensi.
Hasil Penelitian: Pemberian yocamcalo sebanyak 200 mL/hari selama dua bulan terjadi peningkatan kadar SOD secara signifikan dari 17,25 pg/mL menjadi 27,81 pg/mL (p=0,028), sedangkan pada kelompok plasebo juga terjadi kenaikan, namun tidak signifikan dari 24,87 pg/mL menjadi 25,22 pg/mL (p=0,767).
Kesimpulan: Pemberian yocamcalo sebanyak 200 mL/hari selama dua bulan terbukti mampu meningkatkan kadar SOD plasma penderita diabetes melitus tipe II.

Inggris)Background: Type II Diabetes Mellitus is characterized by hyperglycemia which can increase free radicals and undergo oxidative stress which can be characterized by low plasma superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels. Functional drinks that rich in antioxidants such as cowpea’s yogurt (yocamcalo) are expected to improve the antioxidant status of SOD in patients with type II diabetes melitus.
Methodology: The experimental study using randomized controlled trial (RCT) single blind. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Food Processing and Culinary Nutrition at Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwosari Village, East Purwokerto District, Purwanegara Mediko Laboratory, and Karya Medika Slawi Laboratory. Respondents were 18 women of respondents, divided into 2 groups, group I (given yocamcalo) and group II (given placebo). Blood plasma was taken to measure the plasma SOD levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus before and after intervention.
Results: After two months of administering yocamcalo as much as 200 mL/day, there was a significant increase in SOD levels from 17.25 pg/mL to 27.81 pg/mL (p=0.028), while in the placebo group there was also an increase, but not significant from 24, 87 pg/mL to 25.22 pg/mL (p=0.767).
Conclusion: Administration of yocamcalo as much as 200 mL/day for two months has been proved to increase plasma SOD levels in type II diabetes mellitus patients.
