| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Padi merupakan komoditas pangan yang memiliki peranan penting dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pokok masyarakat Indonesia. Budidaya padi masih terus dikembangkan khususnya pada lahan marginal, seperti lahan salin di daerah pesisir pantai. Kendala yang dapat dijumpai pada budidaya padi di lahan salin adalah serangan organisme pengganggu tanaman (OPT), seperti Rhizoctonia solani penyebab busuk pelepah padi. Alternatif pengendalian patogen yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan aplikasi Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR), seperti kelompok bakteri penambat nitrogen (N2). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi bakteri penambat N2 lahan salin dalam meningkatkan ketahanan padi serta kemampuannya dalam memacu pertumbuhan padi yang terinfeksi R. solani. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Screen House B4 Experimental Farm, Laboratorium Perlindungan Tanaman dan Laboratorium Agronomi dan Hortikultura, Fakultas Pertanian UNSOED pada bulan Oktober 2021 - Februari 2022. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 11 perlakuan dan diulang tiga kali. Perlakuan yang dicoba terdiri dari kontrol tanpa inokulasi PGPR penambat N2 dengan infeksi R. solani dan inokulasi isolat Ju1, Jn3, Jn1, J, J12, J5, Kn1, A3, Jn dan K3 dengan infeksi R. solani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inokulasi bakteri penambat N2 dapat meningkatkan ketahanan padi yang terinfeksi jamur R. solani yang ditandai dengan penurunan intensitas penyakit dan peningkatan kandungan saponin, tanin dan hidrokuinon. Pemberian isolat PGPR penambat N2 mampu menekan intensitas serangan R. solani hingga 70%. Aplikasi bakteri penambat N2 secara keseluruhan mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman dan panjang akar total padi. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Rice is a food commodity that has an important role in meeting the basic needs of the Indonesian people. Rice cultivation is still being developed, especially on marginal lands, such as saline land in coastal areas. Obstacles that can be found in rice cultivation in saline land are attacks by plant pest and disease, such as Rhizoctonia solani which causes sheath blight disease of rice. Pathogen control alternative that can be done by using the application of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR), such as nitrogen fixing bacteria. This research aimed to determine the potential of N2-fixing bacteria in increasing rice resistance and its ability to stimulate the growth of rice infected with R. solani. The research was carried out at Screen House B4 Experimental Farm, Plant Protection Laboratory and Agronomy and Horticulture Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture UNSOED in October 2021 until February 2022. The design used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 11 treatments and repeated three times. The treatments tried consisted of controls without N2-fixing bacteria inoculation with R. solani infection and isolate Ju1, Jn3, Jn1, J, J12, J5, Kn1, A3, Jn and K3 inoculation with R. solani infection. The results showed that inoculation of N2-fixing bacteria can increase the rice resistance towards attack of sheath blight pathogen (R. solani) that characterized by a decrease in disease intensity and an increase in saponins, tannins and hydroquinones content. N2-fixing bacteria isolate inoculation is able to suppress R. solani attack intensity up to 70%. The overall application of N2-fixing bacteria was able to increase growth of plant height and total root length of rice. Keywords: Rice, saline, PGPR, resistance, growth, sheath blight disease |
