Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan buku elektronik cutting edge karya Sarah Cunningham dapat membantu para siswa atau tidak untuk mempelajari kosa kata pada siswa kelas tujuh SMP Negeri 3 Purwokerto. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mencari tahu bahwa buku elektronik cutting edge dapat membantu siswa dalam mempelajari kosa kata. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 3 Purwokerto. Subjeknya adalah siswa kelas VII E tahun akademis 2020/2021. Teknik yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data adalah pra-tes dan pasca-tes. Data dari pra-tes dan pasca-tes dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan SPSS 25. Hasil tes hipotesis menentukan bahwa hipotesis alternative (Ha) menyatakan bahwa menggunakan buku elektronik cutting edge membantu siswa dalam mempelajari kosa kata adalah diterima dan hipotesis null (Ho) menyatakan bahwa menggunakan buku elektronik cutting edge tidak membantu siswa dalam mempelajari kosa kata adalah ditolak. Pada hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa ada perbedaan signifikan antara pra-tes dan pasca-tes. Nilai rata-rata ujian pra-tes adalah 72,39 dan nilai rata-rata pasca-tes adalah 85,17. Ttest dari derajat kebebasan dengan signifikan 5% adalah 1.669 dan hasil dari tobserved adalah 1.673. Ini menunjukkan bahwa tobserved lebih besar daripada ttest. Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan buku elektronik cutting edge karya Sarah Cunningham dapat membantu para siswa untuk mempelajari kosa kata pada siswa kelas tujuh SMP Negeri 3 Purwokerto. The objective of this research was to know whether the using of Sarah Cunningham’s Cutting Edge e-book can help students or not to learn vocabulary at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 3 Purwokerto. This research was aimed to find out that the cutting edge e-book can help students in learning vocabulary. The method use in this research was quantitative research. It was conducted in SMP Negeri 3 Purwokerto. The subject was the students of VII E in the academic year of 2020/2021. The techniques used in collecting the data were pre-test and post-test. The data from pre-test and post-test were analyzed statistically using SPSS 25. The result of testing hypothesis determined that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) stated that using Cutting Edge e-book help the students in learning vocabulary is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) stated that using Cutting Edge e-book do not help the students in learning vocabulary is rejected. The result of the research was found that there is a significant difference between pre-test and post-test. The pre-test mean score was 72.39 and the post-test mean score was 85.17. The ttest of degree freedom significance 5% was 1.669 and the result of tobserved was 1.673. It showed that tobserved was higher than ttest. The researcher concluded that the using of Sarah Cunningham’s Cutting Edge E-book help the students at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 3 Purwokerto in learning vocabulary. |
