Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Consumers become the object of business activities to reap the greatest profits by business actors through promotions, ways of selling, and implementing standard agreements that harm consumers. This study aims to find out the legal protection of consumers due to the sale of sugar products with no expired date based on Law Number 8 Year 1999 concerning Consumer Protection in Decision Number 31/Pid.Sus/2020/PN Bna.
This research uses a normative juridical approach with descriptive analytical research specifications. The data source used is secondary data. Method of data collection is conducted with literature study. The data obtained are presented in the form of descriptive narrative text with the data analysis method used is normative qualitative and there is an operational definitions.
Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that the legal protection of consumers in the decision of the Banda Aceh District Court Number 31/Pid.Sus/2020/PN.Bna is in accordance with Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, Al Iqbal Bin Ahmadi as a business actor have been violated Article 7 letter (a), (b), (d), Article 4 letter (a), (c), and Article 8 paragraph (1) letter (g). The judge sentenced him with a criminal sentence based on Article 62 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 8 paragraph (1) letter (g) Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection with imprisonment for 1 (one) month and stipulates evidence of 378 ( three hundred and seventy eight) pcs of packaged sugar with brand sweet sugar in size 1(one) kg as well as burden of pay court fees amount of Rp. 2,000.00 (two thousand rupiah).
