| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini menjelaskan respons masyarakat Desa Dawuhan Kulon terhadap wacana pemekaran Wilayah Kabupaten Banyumas dilihat dari 3 kelas masyarakat yaitu kelas atas, menengah dan bawah. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa adanya respons positif dari masyarakat kelas atas Desa Dawuhan Kulon. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat kelas atas tidak terpengaruh dengan adanya faktor ekonomi, luas wilayah maupun jumlah penduduk. Posisi strata sosial yang kuat membuat mereka tidak terpengaruh dengan ketiga hal tersebut. Untuk kelas menengah, hasil dari analisis data menunjukkan adanya respons yang negatif dimana mayoritas responsden menjawab kurang setuju dengan adanya wacana pemekaran wilayah Kabupaten Banyumas. Hasil tersebut menandakan adanya perubahan sifat dari masyarakat kelas menengah yang biasanya “adem ayem” dan tidak terlalu menuntut sesuatu, menjadi lebih kritis dan aktif dalam menyampaikan keresahan atau pendapatnya khususnya mengenai wacana pemekaran wilayah Kabupaten Banyumas Seperti halnya masyarakat kelas menengah, masyarakat kelas bawah menunujukkan respos negatif. Posisi strata sosial yang lemah membuat masyarakat kelas bawah menjadi yang paling terdampak dengan adanya penurunan pertumbuhan ekonomi Kabupaten Banyumas, oleh karena itu mereka merasa tidak perlu dilakukan pemekaran wilayah. Perbaikan ekonomi justru perlu dilakukan untuk mendorong perekonomian Kabupaten Banyumas menjadi lebih baik.

Inggris) | This study explains the response of the people of Dawuhan Kulon Village to the discourse of the expansion of the Banyumas Regency Region seen from 3 classes of society, namely the upper, middle and lower classes. The results show that there is a positive response from the upper class community in Dawuhan Kulon Village. These results indicate that the upper class society is not affected by economic factors, area and population. Their strong social strata position makes them unaffected by these three things. For the middle class, the results of the data analysis showed a negative response where the majority of respondents answered that they did not agree with the discourse on the expansion of the Banyumas Regency area. These results indicate a change in the nature of the middle class society, which is usually "cool" and not too demanding, to be more critical and active in conveying their concerns or opinions, especially regarding the discourse on the expansion of the Banyumas Regency. negative. The weak social strata position makes the lower class people the most affected by the decline in economic growth in Banyumas Regency, therefore they feel that there is no need for regional expansion. Economic improvement actually needs to be done to encourage the economy of Banyumas Regency to be better.
