| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Orchid plants have diversity and many benefits. Orchids have a high selling value but the available supply is limited due to slow growth. One of the efforts that can be done is intensification of cultivation. The intensification of plant cultivation is supported by the provision of biological fertilizers derived from microorganisms that have a role as Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR). PGPR can be obtained from plant roots with potential to produce IAA, phosphate solvent, N fixing, protease enzyme producer, biocontrol, and has ACC Deaminase activity. This study aims to determine the population diversity of potential PGPR bacteria present in the roots of orchids Dendrobium sp., Phalaenopsis sp., and Vanda douglas, to determine the diversity of potential PGPR bacterial activity in the roots of orchids, and to obtain and determine the potential of bacteria from orchid roots as fertilizer candidates biological. The research was conducted descriptively. Bacterial isolates from root samples of orchid plants were observed for total population, multiactivity, macromorphology and characterization, and the effect of isolates on plants (bioassay). The test was carried out at the Agricultural Microbiology Laboratory of the LIPI Biology Research Center, Cibinong Bogor. The results showed that there were potential IAA-producing bacteria isolates IAA DO U1 B2, IAA HY U3 B1, and NFB HY U2 (2), phosphate solvents PK DY U2 B2, PK HO U3 B1, NFB HO U1, and NFB HY U2 (2), producing protease enzymes PRO VY U1 (4) and PRO VY U3 (2), N fixing PK DY U2 B2, NFB HO U1, and NFB HY U2 (2), and producing ACC Deaminase PK DY U2 B2. The bacterial isolates in this study had no potential as biocontrol agents. |
