| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Pondok pesantren merupakan salah satu sentral pendidikan untuk mendidik calon penerus bangsa. Pondok pesantren, di saat yang bersamaan, merupakan salah satu tempat berisiko tinggi terhadap transmisi skabies. Rasa gatal kronik akibat skabies berpotensi menyebabkan gangguan konsentrasi dan akhirnya dapat berpengaruh terhadap prestasi akademik para santri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh infestasi skabies terhadap prestasi akademik santri di pondok pesantren. Penelitian ini memiliki rancangan potong lintang terhadap populasi santri di pondok pesantren di Purwokerto Wetan. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode total sampling. Analisis bivariat menggunakan uji chi-square 2x2 untuk mengetahui hubungan antar variabel penelitian yakni kejadian infestasi skabies dan prestasi akademik berdasarkan nilai ujian santri. Penentuan skabies pada penelitian ini berdasarkan identifikasi terhadap tanda kardinal skabies, bukan diagnosis definitif. Prevalensi skabies secara keseluruhan sebesar 47,5% atau hampir setengah dari keseluruhan responden. Rerata usia kelompok skabies positif lebih tinggi daripada skabies negatif, yakni 17,5 tahun dan 16,5 tahun. Prevalensi skabies ditemukan lebih tinggi pada santri laki-laki, yakni 77,1% dan 34,9%. Uji bivariat menunjukkan pengaruh yang tidak signikan antara kejadian infestasi skabies dan prestasi akademik (p=0,500). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh signifikan (p=0,500) infestasi skabies terhadap prestasi akademik pada santri di pondok pesantren di Purwokerto Wetan pada tahun ajaran 2020/2021 |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Islamic boarding schools are one of the centers of education to educate the nation's future candidates. Islamic boarding schools, at the same time, are one of the places where there is a high risk of scabies transmission. Chronic itching due to scabies has the potential to cause concentration problems and eventually can affect the academic achievement of the students. This study is aimed to examining the effect of scabies infestation on the academic achievement of students in Islamic boarding schools. This study has a cross-sectional design of the population of students in a boarding school in Purwokerto Wetan. Sampling using the total sampling method. Bivariate analysis used the 2x2 chi-square test to determine the relationship between the research variables, namely the incidence of scabies infestation and academic achievement based on students' test scores. The determination of scabies in this study was based on the identification of the cardinal signs of scabies, not a definitive diagnosis. The overall prevalence of scabies is 47.5% or almost half of all respondents. The mean age of the positive scabies group was higher than the negative scabies group, namely 17.5 years and 16.5 years. The prevalence of scabies was found to be higher in male students, namely 77.1% and 34.9%, respectively. Bivariate test showed no significant effect between the incidence of scabies infestation and academic achievement (p=0,500). It can be concluded that there is no significant effect (p=0.500) on scabies infestation on academic achievement in students of the Islamic boarding schools in Purwokerto Wetan in the 2020/2021 academic year |
