Judul ArtikelPERBEDAAN KADAR INTERLEUKIN 6 (IL-6) PASCA INDUKSI BERBAGAI MODEL STRES SLEEP DEPRIVATION TIKUS PUTIH (Rattus norvegicus) JANTAN
Hewan coba dibagi secara acak menjadi 5 kelompok percobaan yaitu kelompok kontrol, PSD (20 jam SD/hari selama 5 hari), TSD (24 jam SD/hari selama 5 hari), PSD+SR (20 jam SD/hari selama 5 hari dilanjutkan SR selama 5 hari), dan TSD+SR (24 jam SD/hari selama 5 hari dilanjutkan SR selama 5 hari).
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Introduction: Pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-6 is a specific biomarkers that are released during sleep deprivation. Studies show that IL-6 levels is associated with morbidity and mortality. Sleep recovery is considered to be able to restore the effects of sleep deprivation by balancing pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines molecules in the circulation.
Objective: To determine the differences in the levels of Interleukin 6 (IL-6) in male albino rats (Rattus norvegicus) after induction various stress models of sleep deprivation.
Methods: Experimental research with post-test only and control group design on 25 male albino rats were distributed into 5 groups consist of control group, PSD (20 hours of SD/day for 5 days), TSD (24 hours of SD/days for 5 days), PSD+SR (20 hours SD/days for 5 days then SR for 5 days), and TSD+SR (24 hours SD/days for 5 days then SR for 5 days). Sleep deprivation model used a modified multiple platform method (MMPM). Interleukin 6 levels were measured using Bead-based Multiplex Assays with Luminex technology.
Results: One-way ANOVA test shows that there is no significant difference in IL-6 levels (p=0.658). The highest mean IL-6 level is in the TSD group (1578 pg/ml) followed by the PSD group (1281 pg/ml), PSD+SR (1192 pg/ml), control (974 pg/ml) and TSD+SR (952pg/ml).
Conclusions: There is no significant difference in IL-6 levels in male albino rats (Rattus norvegicus) after induction of various sleep deprivation stress models
