| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penuaan kulit adalah suatu proses biologis kompleks yang disebabkan oleh faktor intrinsik dan ekstrinsik. Ada berbagai strategi dalam mencegah penuaan kulit, salah satunya herbal nanokosmetika. Narrative review ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bahan alam, jenis nanoformulasi, dan efek herbal nanokosmetika dalam mencegah penuaan kulit. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penelusuran artikel terkait herbal nanokosmetika untuk mencegah penuaan kulit melalui Google Scholar, PubMed, dan Science Direct dengan kata kunci herbal plants, anti aging, herbal cosmetics, cosmetics, nanocosmetics, nanoformulation, nanoparticle, nanomaterial, dan topical. Kriteria inklusi yang digunakan yaitu artikel penelitian atau review artikel tentang herbal nanokosmetika untuk mencegah penuaan kulit dengan rute pemberian topikal yang terbit antara tahun 2010-2021 secara full text. Artikel yang telah diperoleh kemudian diseleksi, ditelaah, dan dianalisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanaman herbal yang dibuat menjadi herbal nanokosmetika mengandung senyawa fenolik dengan nanoteknologi yang digunakan, yaitu nanopartikel silver, solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN), nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC), nanoemulsi, liposom, niosom, etosom, dan transfersom. Herbal nanokosmetika tersebut dapat memberikan efek terhadap kulit seperti perlindungan dari sinar UV, mencegah kerutan dan bintik hitam, melembabkan serta mencerahkan. Herbal nanokosmetika dapat mencegah efek penuaan kulit melalui beberapa mekanisme seperti antioksidan, agen fotoprotektif, modulator sintesis kolagen atau elastin, dan penghambat sintesis melanin. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Skin aging is a complex biological process caused by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. There are various strategies in preventing skin aging, one of which is herbal nanocomstics. This narrative review aims to determine natural ingredients, types of nanoformulations, and the effects of herbal nanocosmetics in preventing skin aging. The method used was searching for articles related to herbal nanocometics to prevent skin aging through Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct with the keywords herbal plants, anti aging, herbal cosmetics, cosmetics, nanocosmetics, nanoformulations, nanoparticles, nanomaterials, and topicals. The inclusion criteria used are research articles or review articles on herbal nanocosmetics to prevent skin aging by topical routes published between 2010-2021 in full text. The articles that have been obtained are the selected, reviewed, and analyzed. The results showed that herbal nanocosmetics contained phenolic compounds with the nanotechnology used, namely silver nanoparticles, solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN), nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC), nanoemulsions, liposomes, niosomes, ethosomes, and transfersomes. These herbal nanocosmetics can provide effects on the skin such as protection from UV rays, preventing wrinkles and dark spots, moisturizing and brightening. The herbal nanocosmetics prevent the effects of skin aging through some mechanisms such as antioxidants, photoprotective agents, modulators of collagen or elastin synthesis, and inhibition of melanin synthesis. |
