| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan stereotip gender dan bahasa yang ditemukan dalam film Mulan. Ini mengungkapkan gaya bicara dan karakteristik interaksi gender dalam film. Analisis dilakukan dengan teori representasi bahasa dan gender oleh Holmes dan Stubbe (2003) yang menjelaskan ciri-ciri stereotip gaya bicara feminin dan maskulin. Teori kedua adalah oleh Talbot (2003) tentang stereotip karakterisasi gaya interaksi perempuan dan laki-laki. Data penelitian ini berupa pernyataan dan percakapan yang dapat membangun stereotip gender dan bahasa khususnya gaya bicara dan interaksi. Ada 21 dialog dalam analisis ini yang diucapkan oleh Mulan dan Shang. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian, penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif yang artinya analisisnya terdiri dari ungkapan, kalimat atau frase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tipe yang digunakan dalam analisis ini adalah tipe indirect, conciliatory, facilitative, collaborative, dan affectively oriented untuk gaya bicara feminin. Gaya bicara maskulin yang ditemukan dalam analisis adalah direct, confrontational, task/outcome-oriented, dan referentially oriented. Jenis-jenis yang sering ditemukan dalam analisis ini adalah sympathy, rapport, listening, private, connection, and intimacy untuk feminine. Untuk stereotip, gaya interaksi maskulin yang bergender termasuk dalam semua tipe yaitu problem-solving, report, lecturing, public, status, oppositional, dan independence. Kesimpulannya adalah semua jenis stereotip gaya interaksi gender banyak ditemukan dalam analisis kecuali supportive yang termasuk dalam gaya interaksi feminin. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This study aims to find and explain the gender and language stereotype which are found in Mulan movie. It is revealing the styles of talk and the characteristic of gendered interaction in the movie. The analysis is conducted by using the theory of language and gender representation by Holmes and Stubbe (2003) which explained the features of stereotypical feminine and masculine speech styles. The second theory is by Talbot (2003) of the stereotype of characterization of women’s and men’s interaction styles. The data of this research were the statement and conversation which can build a stereotype of gender and language especially the speech style and the interaction. There were 21 dialogue in this analysis which are uttered by Mulan and Shang. In order to answer the research questions, the writer applied the qualitative method which means that the analysis consist of utterance, sentence or phrase. The result of this research shows that the types which are used in this analysis are indirect, conciliatory, facilitative, collaborative, and affectively oriented for feminine speech style. The masculine speech styles which are found in the analysis are direct, confrontational, task/outcome-oriented, and referentially oriented. The types which are frequently found in this analysis are sympathy, rapport, listening, private, connection, and intimacy for feminine ones. For the stereotype, gendered styles of masculine interaction are included in all of the types namely problem-solving, report, lecturing, public, status, oppositional, and independence. The conclusion is all of the types of stereotype of gendered style of interaction are mostly found in the analysis except for the supportive one which included as the feminine styles.
