Indonesia) | ABSTRAK Artikel hasil penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh akses media sosial Twitter terhadap tingkat pengetahuan politik mahasiswa Universitas Jenderal Soedirman dalam Pemilihan Kepala Daerah (Pilkada) serentak tahun 2020. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah penelitian kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampelnya menggunakan teknik sampel secara acak berstrata sederhana (proportionate stratified random sampling). Jumlah populasi sebanyak 8.116 orang serta menggunakan Margin of Error sebesar 10% dengan tingkat kepercayaan sebesar 90% sehingga sampel yang akan diambil berjumlah 100 orang. Sasaran penelitian ini ialah mahasiswa aktif Universitas Jenderal Soedirman angkatan 2017 dan 2018. Kemudian, teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji linearitas, analisis korelasi pearson, dan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Atas dasar perhitungan atau pengolahan data penelitian, hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Artinya terdapat hubungan atau pengaruh antara variabel X dan Y dengan kategori derajat hubungan yang sedang. Kontribusi variabel X terhadap Y yakni sebesar 31,8 %. Nilai ini mengandung arti bahwa pengaruh akses media sosial terhadap pengetahuan politik sebesar 31,8 % sedangkan sisanya, yakni sebesar 68,2 % pengetahuan politik dipengaruhi oleh variabel lainnya yang tidak diteliti di dalam penelitian ini. Dengan terbuktinya pengaruh antara akses media sosial terhadap pengetahuan politik, hal tersebut sesuai dengan teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teori jarum suntik. Jika merujuk pada teori tersebut maka seseorang yang sering menerima informasi dari media sosial tentu tingkat pengetahuan politiknya akan lebih tinggi daripada yang tidak pernah mengakses sama sekali, meskipun terdapat faktor pendukung lainnya. |

Inggris) | ABSTRACT This article of research aims to knowing how much influence Twitter social media access has on the level of political knowledge of General Soedirman University students in the simultaneous Regional Head Elections in 2020. The method used in this research is quantitative research. The sampling technique used was a simple stratified random sampling technique (proportionate stratified random sampling). The total population is 8,116 people and uses a Margin of Error of 10% with a confidence level of 90% so that the sample to be taken is 100 people. The target of this research is active students of Jenderal Soedirman University grade of 2017 and 2018. Then, the data analysis techniques used in this study are validity test, reliability test, normality test, linearity test, Pearson correlation analysis, and simple linear regression analysis. On the basis of calculation or research data processing, the results show that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is a relationship or influence between variables X and Y with the moderate degree category of the relationship. Contribution of variable X to Y is 31.8%. This value implies that the effect of social media access on political knowledge is 31.8%, while the rest, namely 68.2%, political knowledge is influenced by other variables not examined in this research. With the proven influence of social media access on political knowledge, this is in accordance with the theory used in this study, namely is Hypodhermic Needle Theory. If refers to this theory, someone who often receives information from social media will certainly have a higher level of political knowledge than those who never access it at all, although there are other supporting factors. |
