Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Ayam broiler merupakan salah satu komoditas ternak yang banyak dikonsumsi masyarakat, karena memiliki harga yang terjangkau. Jenis ayam broiler yang banyak dipelihara oleh masyarakat salah satunya adalah strain cobb. Penggunaan kandang closed house di masyarakat semakin meningkat, karena kandang closed house telah memiliki sistem otomatis, dan menggunakan peralatan yang modern untuk menghasilkan produksi yang tinggi. Lingkungan di dalam kandang dapat diatur sedemikian rupa sesuai dengan kebutuhan ayam. Jumlah ayam di dalam kandang perlu diperhatikan, karena kepadatan kandang merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi produksi ayam broiler.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh kepadatan closed house terhadap persentase karkas dan lemak abdomen ayam broiler strain cobb. Penelitian ini menggunakan DOC strain cobb, sebanyak 200 ekor unsex, terdiri dari 5 perlakuan yaitu T1 = 8 ekor/m2; T2 = 9 ekor/m2; T3 = 10 ekor/m2; T4 = 11 ekor/m2; T5 = 12 ekor/m2. Setiap perlakuan akan dilakukan pengulangan sebanyak 4 kali, sehingga diperoleh unit percobaan sebanyak 20 unit. Pengaturan kepadatan kandang dilakukan mulai umur 21-35 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kepadatan kandang berpengaruh sangat nyata (P < 0,01) terhadap persentase karkas dan berpengaruh nyata (P > 0,05) terhadap persentase lemak abdomen ayam broiler strain cobb. Hasil penelitian menunjukan angka persentase karkas (70,88 ± 1,70% - 78,14 ± 1,51%) dan persentase lemak abdomen (1,13 ± 0,06% - 1,63 ± 0,40%). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu kepadatan kandang memberikan hasil yang berbeda terhadap persentase karkas dan persentase lemak abdomen. Kepadatan kandang pada 8 dan 12 ekor/m2 menghasilkan persentase karkas lebih tinggi dibanding perlakuan lainnya. Kepadatan kandang 8, 9, 11 dan 12 ekor/m2 menghasilkan persentase lemak abdomen rendah.

One of the types of broiler chickens that are kept by the community is the cobb strain. The use of closed house cages in the community is increasing, because closed house cages already have an automatic system and use modern equipment to produce high production. The environment in the cage can be adjusted according to the needs of the chickens. The number of chickens in the cage needs to be considered, because cage density is one of the factors that can affect the production of broiler chickens. This study aims to examine the effect of closed house density on the percentage of carcass and abdominal fat of broiler strain cobb chickens. This study used 200 DOC strains of cobb, consisting of 5 treatments, namely T1 = 8 heads / m2; T2 = 9 heads / m2; T3 = 10 heads / m2; T4 = 11heads / m2; T5 = 12 heads / m2. Each treatment will be repeated 4 times, so that the experimental unit is obtained as many as 20 units. Arrangement of cage density was carried out from the age of 21-35 days. The results showed that the cage density had a very significant effect (P < 0.01) on the percentage of carcasses and significantly (P > 0.05) on the percentage of cobb strain broiler abdominal fat. The results showed the percentage of carcass (70.88 ± 1.70% - 78.14 ± 1.51%) and the percentage of abdominal fat (1.13 ± 0.06% - 1.63 ± 0.40%). The conclusion of this study was that the density of the cage gave different results to the percentage of carcass and the percentage of abdominal fat. The density of cages at 8 and 12 heads/m2 resulted in a higher carcass percentage compared to other treatments. The density of the 8, 9, 11 and 12 heads/m2 cage resulted in the low percentage of abdominal fat.
