| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Feminisme radikal merupakan sebuah cabang dari feminisme yang memiliki objektif untuk menghancurkan akar dari permasalahan sosial yaitu seksisme dan patriarki yang dianggap sebagai akar dari segala dominasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan pengaruh serial televisi Game of Thrones terhadap perkembangan gerakan feminisme radikal di Amerika Serikat tahun 2015-2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep perspektif feminisme radikal sebagai sebuah gerakan sosial. Pembahasan pertama mengenai konsep gerakan dan ideologi feminisme dan kehadiran gelombang gerakan feminisme, perbandingan karakteristik feminisme di Amerika Serikat dan kawasan lain, serta kehadiran feminisme radikal dalam diskusi hubungan internasional yang bertujuan untuk mendorong wanita untuk melawan penindasan berdasarkan dominasi seksisme. Selanjutnya dijelaskan secara spesifik mengenai sejarah perkembangan feminisme radikal di Amerika Serikat serta dampaknya terhadap budaya populer dalam protes Miss America 1968 akibat inspirasi film Schmeerguntz (1965). Pada masa kini, serial televisi Game of Thrones menjadi salah satu media yang memuat permasalahan wanita dan peningkatan kesadaran. Meskipun Game of Thrones mampu memberikan pengaruh terhadap sebagian publik, tetapi Game of Thrones justru mendapat pengaruh dari #MeToo Movement sehingga harus menghilangkan adegan vulgar. Game of Thrones terbukti mengandung banyak nilai peningkatan kesadaran terhadap isu pribadi wanita, tetapi belum mampu memberikan efek signifikan layaknya dorongan film Schmeerguntz terhadap gerakan feminisme radikal di masa lalu. Terlepas dari keterbatasan Game of Thrones yang belum secara signifikan mendorong gerakan feminisme radikal, tetapi ditemukan bahwa Game of Thrones menjadi agen awal dalam peningkatan kesadaran bagi individu khususnya wanita untuk menyadari lebih jauh mengenai permasalahan pribadi dan sosial seperti rape culture sebagai wujud dominasi seksisme. Hal tersebut serupa dengan kegiatan awal aktivis feminisme radikal yang menyebarkan pemahaman terhadap kesadaran isu pribadi dan sosial melalui media massa. |

Inggris) | Radical feminism is a branch of feminism and is assumed to be part of feminism which has the objective of destroying the root of social problems, namely sexism and patriarchy which is considered the root of all domination. The purpose of this study is to explain the influence the television series Game of Thrones public on the development of the radical feminist movement in United States of America in 2015-2019. The research conducted by using radical feminism as a concept of social movement. The first discussion is about the concept of feminism movement and ideology and the presence of a wave of feminism movement, comparation of feminisme characteristic in United States of America and other regions, and the presence of feminism in international relations discussions. Furthermore, it is explained specifically about the history of the radical feminism development in the United States of America and its impact on popular culture in the Miss America 1968 protest due to the inspiration of the film Schmeerguntz (1965). Nowadays, the television series Game of Thrones, has become one of the media that contains women's problems and raises awareness. Even though Game of Thrones was able to influence some viewers, Game of Thrones actually got the influence of the #MeToo Movement so it had to dismiss vulgar scenes. Game of Thrones has proven to contain a lot of value in increasing awareness of women's personal issues, but has not been able to have a significant effect like how Schmeerguntz movie encouraged and inspired the radical feminism movement in the past. Despite the limitations of Game of Thrones, which has not significantly encouraged the radical feminism movement, it was found that Game of Thrones has become an early agent in order to increase awareness for individuals, especially women, to be more aware of personal and social issues such as rape culture as a form of sexism domination. This is similar to the early activities of radical feminist activists who spread awareness about personal and social issues through mass media. |
