| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tipe kepribadian tokoh utama dalam novel Guru Aini menggunakan teori Gerard Heymans, untuk mendeskripsikan faktor yang memengaruhi kepribadian tokoh utama, dan untuk mendeskripsikan relevansi antara kepribadian tokoh dengan materi menganalisis isi dan kebahasaan novel. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah novel Guru Aini karya Andrea Hirata yang terbit pada bulan Februari tahun 2020. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kepribadian tokoh Aini meliputi cholerici (orang garang). flegmattici (orang tenang), dan nerveuzen (orang penggugup). Kepribadian yang muncul pada diri Aini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, antara lain faktor genetik (pembawaan), faktor lingkungan keluarga, serta faktor prestasi sekolah. Relevansi antara penelitian ini dengan KD 3.9 Menganalisis isi dan kebahasaan novel untuk kelas XII SMA adalah saat siswa menganalisis unsur intrinsik novel, terutama unsur penokohan maka siswa dapat mendeskripsikan karakter tokoh secara teoritis. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This study aims to describe the personality type of the main character in Guru Aini’s novel using Gerard Heymans theory, to describe the factors that influence the personality of the main character, and to describe the relevance of the character’s personality with the material to analyze the contents and language of the novel. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The source of data in this study is the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata, published in February 2020. The method used in presenting the data is a formal method. The result of this study are the personality of Aini’s character including cholerici (fierce people), flegmattici (calm people), and nerveuzen (nervous people). The personality that appears in Aini is caused by several factors (innate), family environmental factors, and school achievement factors. The relevance of this research with the KD 3.9 to analyze the contents and language of the novel of class XII SMA is that when students analyze the intrinsic elements of the novel, especially the characterization elements, students can describe the character of the character theoretically. |
