| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan perilaku membuang sampah yang dipengaruhi oleh status sosial ekonomi individu masyarakat. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala keluarga yang tinggal di Kelurahan Purwokerto, Kecamatan Purwokerto Timur, Kabupaten Banyumas. Perilaku membuang sampah merupakan salah satu hal terpenting dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Individu yang memiliki perilaku membuang sampah baik, tentunya akan berdampak baik pula pada lingkungan sekitarnya, seperti di Kelurahan Arcawinangun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Jumlah sampel yang didapatkan sebanyak 96 responden melalui perhitungan teknik slovin. Teknik penyajian data yang diperoleh menggunakan distribusi frekuensi dan tabel silang. Data yang diperoleh kemudian diolah menggunakan alat uji analisis Korelasi Tau Kendal. Hasil diperoleh bahwa hipotesis yang pertama, yaitu pengaruh yang positif status sosial ekonomi terhadap perilaku membuang sampah ditolak karena sesuai dengan angka yang tertera sebesar -0,198. Hal tersebut berarti bahwa warga yang memiliki status sosial ekonomi tergolong rendah, memiliki perilaku membuang sampah yang baik. Sementara itu, warga yang memiliki status sosial ekonomi tergolong tinggi, memiliki perilaku membuang sampah yang kurang baik. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This study aims to explain the behavior of disposing of waste which is influenced by the socioeconomic status of the individual in society. Respondents in this study were heads of families who lived in Purwokerto Village, East Purwokerto District, Banyumas Regency. The behavior of disposing of garbage is one of the most important things in people's life. Individuals who have good waste disposal behavior, of course, will also have a good impact on the surrounding environment, such as in Arcawinangun Village. This study uses a survey method. The number of samples obtained was 96 respondents through the calculation of the Slovin technique. The data presentation technique is obtained using frequency distribution and cross tables. The data obtained were then processed using the Tau Kendal Correlation test tool. The results showed that the first hypothesis, namely the positive effect of socio-economic status on the behavior of disposing of waste was rejected because it was in accordance with the figures listed at -0.198 This means that residents who have low socioeconomic status have good waste disposal behavior. Meanwhile, residents who have high socioeconomic status have poor behavior in disposing of garbage. |
