Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mempelajari interaksi antara suhu thawing dan lama thawing terhadap motilitas, viabilitas, dan abnormalitas spermatozoa semen post-freezing pada kambing Peranakan Etawa; mempelajari adanya pengaruh lama thawing terhadap motilitas, viabilitas, dan abnormalitas spermatozoa semen post-freezing pada kambing Peranakan Etawa; serta mempelajari adanya pengaruh suhu terhadap motilitas, viabilitas, dan abnormalitas spermatozoa semen post-freezing pada kambing Peranakan Etawa. Percobaan faktorial dengan rancangan dasar Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Jumlah unit percobaan sebanyak 27 straw dengan setiap ulangan terdiri dari 1 straw semen beku dari kambing Peranakan Etawa. Perlakuan terdiri dari 2 faktor, yaitu faktor A (lama thawing) dan faktor B (suhu thawing). Lama thawing terbagi menjadi 15 detik, 30 detik, dan 45 detik. Suhu thawing terbagi menjadi 32°C, 37°C, dan 42°C. Variabel yang diamati yaitu motilitas, viabilitas, dan abnormalitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan interaksi antara suhu thawing dan lama thawing berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap motilitas, viabilitas, dan abnormalitas spermatozoa semen post-freezing pada kambing Peranakan Etawa. Kesimpulan penelitian bahwa motilitas, viabilitas, dan abnormalitas terbaik pada interaksi suhu thawing dan lama thawing terhadap semen post-freezing pada kambing Peranakan Etawa dicapai saat dithawing pada suhu 37°C selama 30 detik.

The aim of this research was to study the interaction between thawing length and thawing temperature on motility, viability, and abnormality of spermatozoa of post-freezing semen in Etawa crossbred goats; to study the effect of thawing length on motility, viability, and abnormality of spermatozoa of post-freezing semen in Etawa crossbred goats; and to observe the effect of temperature on motility, viability, and abnormality of spermatozoa of post-freezing semen in Etawa crossbred goats. Factorial experiment with research based the Completely Research Design was used in this experiment. The number of experimental units was 27 straws with each replication consisting of 1 frozen semen straw from Etawa crossbred goat. The treatment consisted of 2 factors, namely factor A (thawing length) and factor B (thawing temperature). The duration of thawing was divided into 15 seconds, 30 seconds and 45 seconds. Thawing temperature was divided into 32°C, 37°C, and 42°C. The variables observed were motility, viability and abnormality. That the interaction between thawing length and temperature was a highly significantly difference (P<0.01) on the motility, viability, and abnormality of spermatozoa of post-freezing semen in Etawa crossbred goats. In conclusion that the best motility, viability, and abnormality in the interaction of thawing temperature and thawing time on post-freezing semen in Etawa crossbred goats were achieved when thawing at 37°C for 30 seconds.
