Judul ArtikelPENGARUH PAKAN DOMBA BERKROMIUM ORGANIK YANG DISUPLEMENTASI BAWANG PUTIH (Allium sativum) DAN RUMPUT LAUT (Gracilaria sp.) TERHADAP KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH DAN pH RUMEN
Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perubahan kadar glukosa darah dan pH rumen domba yang disuplementasi tepung bawang putih (Allium sativum) dan tepung rumput laut (Gracilaria sp) pada pakan basal berkromium organik. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama tiga bulan yaitu mulai tanggal 1 Agustus – 1 November bertempat di Gunung Tugel Farm Banyumas dan Laboratorium Ilmu Bahan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Materi yang digunakan berupa 18 ekor domba ekor tipis jantan dengan rataan bobot awal 15±2 Kg, pakan basal yang diberikan sebanyak 4,5% BK/Kg BB. Metode penelitian ini berupa in vivo dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Ada tiga perlakuan dan enam ulangan yang diuji cobakan yaitu R0 sebagai pakan basal (65% rumput lapang + 30% konsentrat + 5% tepung indigofera), R1 (pakan basal + 250 ppm tepung bawang putih), R2 (pakan basal + 3,6% tepung rumput laut). Variabel yang diukur adalah kadar glukosa darah dan pH cairan rumen. Data yang telah diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi. Rataan kadar glukosa darah yaitu R0 = 53,07 ± 7,94 mg/dL, R1 = 35,26 ± 7,51 mg/dL, R2 = 47,25 ± 10,79 mg/dL dan rataan pH cairan rumen yaitu R0 = 6,36 ± 0,12, R1 = 6,43 ± 0,20, dan R2 = 6,28 ± 0,24. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak memiliki pengaruh nyata terhadap pH rumen, namun berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kadar glukosa darah. Hasil uji lanjut menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang sangat nyata antara pakan kontrol R0 dengan perlakuan R1 (P<0,01), namun antar perlakuan R1 dan R2 tidak menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang nyata (P>0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplementasi tepung rumput laut sebanyak 3,6% atau tepung bawang putih sebanyak 250 ppm pada pakan basal berkromium organik mampu menghasilkan kadar glukosa darah yang normal dan nilai pH rumen yang ideal.

Inggris)This study aimed to determine the alteration of plasma glucose levels and rumen pH fluid of thin tailed sheep supplemented with garlic flour and seaweed flour in organic chromium basal feed. This study conducted for three months, starting from 1st of August 2020 until 1st of November 2020 in Gunung Tugel Farm Banyumas and the animal feedstuff laboratory of animal science faculty, of Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. The materials used were 18 male thin tail sheep with the means of live weight of 15 ± 2 kg, given basal feed 4.5% (on dry matter basis) which was calculated based on body weight. This research method was an experimental in vivo using completely randomized design (CRD). There were three treatments and six replications that were tested, namely R0 as basal feed (65% field grass + 30% concentrate + 5% indigofera flour), R1 (basal feed + 250 ppm garlic flour), R2 (basal feed + 3.6 % seaweed flour). The variables measured were plasma glucose levels and rumen fluid pH. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance. The means of plasma glucose levels were R0 = 53.07 ± 7.94 mg / dL, R1 = 35.26 ± 7.51 mg / dL, R2 = 47.25 ± 10.79 mg / dL and the means of rumen pH fluid was R0 = 6.36 ± 0.12, R1 = 6.43 ± 0.20, and R2 = 6.28 ± 0.24. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the treatment had no significant effect on rumen pH, however it had a significant effect (P<0,05) on blood glucose levels. Further test results showed that there was a very significant difference between the control feed R0 and treatment R1 (P<0.01), but between treatments R1 and R2 did not show any significant differences between treatments (P>0.05). In conclusion, supplementation of 250 ppm garlic flour or 3,6% seaweed flour in organic chromium basal feed could maintanance glucose levels and an ideal pH of ruminal fluid.
