Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Background: Colorectal cancer is the 3rd most common malignancy in the world and the second most deadly type of cancer in developed countries. Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) has been used as a serum marker / marker for the diagnosis and prognosis of colorectal cancer (KKR) for several years, and its significance and use in clinical applications has been reported in many studies, pre-operative serum CEA levels <5µg / L can be used as predictors of patient survival such as 5-year survival rate and tumor-specific survival. The diagnostic accuracy of CEA is still low. CEA is relatively lower when compared to other TRC marker candidates, such as Macrophage inhibitory cytokine-1 / MIC-1 and exosomal copine III / CPNE3 in predicting TRC. This low accuracy can be affected by the variability of the CEA measurement results. To increase the sensitivity of CEA in predicting TRC, further analysis is needed on factors that influence CEA levels such as tumor stage, tumor grade, tumor location, smoking activity, intestinal obstruction, and liver function status.
Objective: Knowing the correlation in CEA levels in patients with impaired liver function in colorectal cancer patients at Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital.
Method: The research design that will be used is an observational analytic study with a cross sectional approach, the measurement of variables is carried out once at a time. The research was conducted by collecting secondary data in the form of medical records. The sampling technique was using total sampling technique.
Results: SGOT and albumin variables have a significant correlation with serum CEA levels. SGOT levels had a positive correlation with CEA levels (p = 0.003; r = 0.432) while serum albumin levels had a negative correlation with CEA levels (p = 0.04; r = -0.308).
Conclusion: Correlation analysis shows that SGOT enzyme levels have a positive correlation to serum CEA levels, while serum albumin levels have a negative correlation with serum CEA levels in colorectal cancer patients.
Kata kunci: Kanker Kolorektal, CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen), Transaminase, Albumin serum.
