| Judul Artikel | The Impact of Big Industry on Social Economic Conditions in Brebes Regency |
| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Industrialisasi merupakan salah satu bentuk pendorong menuju modernisasi yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat. Perubahan pembangunan yang pesat akibat industri selain akan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat, juga akan berdampak langsung pada kehidupan sosial ekonomi masyarakat setempat. Penelitian ini berjudul “Dampak Keberadaan Industri Besar Terhadap Kondisi Sosial Ekonomi di Kabupaten Brebes”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pemetaan dampak keberadaan industri besar terhadap kondisi sosial ekonomi di Kabupaten Brebes dan untuk menganalisis pengaruh keberadaan industri besar terhadap kondisi sosial ekonomi di Kabupaten Brebes. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif, menggunakan metode Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) dan analisis regresi data panel menggunakan dummy variabel. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder yaitu pooled data (time-series dan cross section) dengan periode waktu dari 2009 sampai 2018. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menggunakan analisis Sistem Informasi Geografis menunjukan bahwa variabel yang mengalami perubahan menjadi lebih baik secara peta adalah variabel kesehatan, jumlah rumah penduduk, jumlah rumah makan dan jumlah toko/kios sedangkan variabel pendidikan, jumlah penduduk dan luas panen padi mengalami perubahan menjadi kategori lebih buruk secara peta. Hasil analisis regresi data panel menggunakan variabel dummy menunjukan bahwa dampak keberadaan industri besar terhadap kondisi sosial ekonomi di Kabupaten Brebes memiliki pengaruh positif signifikan terhadap variabel jumlah rumah penduduk, jumlah rumah makan, jumlah toko/kios dan luas panen padi, sedangkan dampak keberadaan industri besar memiliki pengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap variabel pendidikan dan tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap variabel kesehatan dan jumlah penduduk. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah bagi pihak industri harus memperhatikan dampak negatif yang ditimbulkan keberadaan industri besar terhadap masyarakat serta bagi pihak pemerintah daerah perlu memilih atau menyediakan daerah yang sudah memenuhi analisis mengenai dampak lingkungan ketika ada pihak yang izin mendirikan pabrik. Keterbatasan penelitian ini adalah periode waktu yang digunakan hanya dari 2009-2018 (sepuluh tahun) sehingga tidak terlalu terlihat perbedaan sebelum dan sesudah keberadaan industri besar. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Industrialization is one of the driving forms towards modernization that is expected to improve people's standard of living. Rapid development changes due to industry in addition to improving the welfare of the community, will also have a direct impact on the socioeconomic life of the local community. This research is entitled "The Impact of Big Industry on Social Economic Conditions in Brebes Regency”. The purpose of this research is to analyze the mapping of big industry existence on socioeconomic conditions in Brebes Regency and to analyze the influence of big industry existence on socioeconomic conditions in Brebes Regency. This type of research is quantitative research and using method Geographic Information System and panel data regression analysis using dummy variable. The data used are secondary and pooled data (time-series and cross section) covering the time period of 2009 to 2018. Based on the results of the study using Geographic Information System analysis showed that variables that change from the map into better categories are health, total houses of population, total of restaurants and total of stores meanwhile education, population and rice harvest area variable have changed on a map became worse category than before. The results of panel data regression analysis using dummy variable showed that the impact of big industry on social economic conditions in Brebes Regency has positive significant effect on total houses of population, total of restaurants, total of stores and rice harvest area variable, while the existence of big industries has a negative significant effect on education variable and has no effect on health and population variable. The implication of this research is for industry must pay attention to the negative impacts caused to community and environment as well as and for local governments need to choose or provide areas that have fulfilled the Environmental Impact Analysis when there are those who set up factories. This research has limitation is time period only used from 2009-2018 (ten years) so that mapping and regression analysis not very noticeable difference before and after the existence of big industries. |
