Kata Kunci: elemen struktural gosip, penguatan opini, pejorasi Penelitian yang berjudul “Analisis Struktur Elemen Gosip di antara wanita yang tercermin di serial TV Keeping up with the Kardashian musim 11 Episode 01-05 (kajian sosiolinguistik)” difokuskan untuk menemukan topik gossip beserta struktur elemen gossip di serial TV Keeping up with the Kardashian Musim 11 Episode 1-5. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang mempunyai 2 tujuan yaitu: (1) mengidentifikasi topik gossip (2) mengidentifikasi elemen struktural gossip. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) opini menjadi topik yang dominan di dalam gossip di antara karakter wanita. (2) elemen wajib ada di semua percakapan gosip yang dimulai dari focus orang ketiga, diikuti oleh penguatan opini, dan diakhiri oleh pejorasi. (3) elemen opsional muncul sebanyak 70% dari gosip yang ada untuk memunculkan detail yang lebih banyak tentang topik gosip. (4) Tidak ada elemen tambahan yang muncul dalam gosip yang berarti tidak ada debat tentang topik yang dibahas dalam percakapan. Dari temuan ini, bisa disimpulkan bahwa wanita di keluarga Kardashian suka memberi opini tentang orang lain yang tidak terlibat dalam percakapan mereka. Setelah menyampaikan opini, mereka juga memberi justifikasi terhadap orang yang mempunyai perilaku tidak biasa atau menyimpang. |

Keywords: structural element of gossip, substantiating, pejorative This research entitled “An Analysis Of Structural Element Of Gossip Among Females On Keeping Up With The Kardashian Season 11 Episode 01-05 Television Series Show (A Sociolinguistic Study)” focuses on finding out the topics of gossip and their structural element in a TV series known as Keeping up with the Kardashian Season 11 Episode 1-5. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with the following purposes: (1) to identify the topics of gossip (2) to identify the structural elements of the gossip. The result shows that (1) Opinion becomes the dominant topic in gossip around the females. (2) Obligatory elements present in all gossip starting with third person focus, followed by substantiating, and concluded by pejorative. (3) Optional elements occur in 70% of gossip as probe for more details about the topic of gossip (4) no additional element present in gossip indicating there is no debate about the topic discussed from the finding above, it can be concluded that the females in Kardashian family likes giving opinion about other people not involved in their gossip conversation. After giving opinion, they also judge the person who has defiant or unusual behavior. |
